Peter Drucker Management Lessons

In lesson number eighteen, the author states that employees are business assets. This is very important in the art of management due to numerous reasons. Employees are the frontier of any business. They represent the culture and passion of the company/organization. Staffs are resolutions providers who initiate new ways to resolve Member concerns. Additionally, they are the organization’s salespeople upholding good relationships with present customers, over and above identifying prospective customers. Moreover, when goods and services are delivered to clients and the company starts to develop in the market, it is the employees who extend these services and acquire success for the organization. In summary, staffs are the most valuable company assets and they should never be treated as anything less (Drucker, 1990).

Lesson numbered seven in Drucker’s lessons reminds me of improvements that I require to make in my own management expertise. I have learnt that the chief role of any business is to serve consumers and the main objective of the business is to create clients. Starting from this moment onwards my main aim will be to steer the business to make clients feel appreciated by giving them the very best service. Coupled with the business’s objective of creating new clients I believe that I really am going to do extend new management aspects to the business. Additionally this lesson has enlightened me regarding the role of marketing in business; this is something that we have been performing on a minimal basis.  Thus, by placing the aim of marketing as the method of identifying and understanding the product that the best fits the consumer and sell it to them, this will lead to increased organization’s revenue(Drucker, 1990).
