Movie Review: (A) sexual

1. QUESTION 1
   David is well adjusted in terms of his sexual identity and his relationship with others. He has been able to create a community of likeminded individuals who have a similar sexual orientation as his own. He also shows how he has an advantage over hetero and homosexual individuals. He is able to have multiple relationships as he is not tied to specific persons. Through these relationships, David and others have plans of doing constructive things like moving in together and adopting and raising kids.
2. QUESTION 2

At one point, David interacts with a guy who tells him, “I pity your soul.” This statement, made me understand the level of discrimination that people with different ideals often undergo. I got the idea that the guy is a homosexual. Such a statement from a minority group member shows how people are more difficult to accept change.

Regardless of the fact that David does not have sexual relationships, when he starts losing some of those people with whom he shares primary relationships with, he seems disturbed and accepts to be feeling lonely. This shows that David had created love-like attachments with his friends that were independent from sex. The documentary also shows two couples living through asexuality. The couples are very close to each other regardless of the sexual deprivation associated with it.

David finally accepts that there is a need for sex in a relationship. He feels that sex helps make people take their relationships more seriously. He probably feels that he would have been able to salvage one of his primary relationships if he had engaged in sex. The changes in situations in his life probably contribute to this change of position.
