Environmentally Sustainable Design

Environmentally Sustainable Design aims at reducing the effects of the creation and usage of residences on the natural setting, thus in addition to enhancing the inhabitants’ comfort Think Australia Hospitality Limited (TAHL) is committed towards operating ‘green’ hotel. Sustainable hotels are increasingly becoming famous destinations for visitors since it is providing a safe environment to them and the environment. The newly acquired complex of fifty rooms’ renovation will be done through an environmentally sustainable perspective, that is, all materials and structures to be fitted will be green materials.  Because the purchasing will be in bulk the prices of items are expected to be quite low.  The materials used to renovate the rooms will be locally purchased to avoid any Additional costs such as shipping and duties costs.

SUSTAINABLE ROOM DESIGN

The room design in the hotel will take advantage of the most recent energy cutback materials and systems. Energy & Carbon

• Each room in the hotel have a solar paneled at the roof to help illuminate the rooms and public areas at a cost of $3000 in addition to installation. This results to a significant lessening of carbon dioxide release. Recycling

• The hotel will encourage the reuse towels that is on guest’s request
• Newspapers will be provided on request.
• Mass procurement of chemicals & usage of dosage dispensers
• The remainders of toiletries and soaps will be donated to charity
• Wastes will be compacted in order to ensure reduced collections

Interior Design

• Table mats, ironing boards  along with bread baskets inside the rooms will be made recycled products which are inturn recyclable at a cost of $1000

• An environmental sustainable Minibar fridge at a cost $1000
• A sustainable certified room wall paper at a cost $500
• Spring mattresses made of recycled materials $1200
• Carpets to be fitted  will be sourced from natural fibers and those without any chemical treatment at a cost of $1000 per room (Blevis, 2007)

After adopting all the green hotel requirements in accordance to the cost constraints the total expenditure per room amounts to $39750. The idea to go green will greatly attract many visitors since nowadays individuals have become highly appreciative towards such business which take care of their safety and the environment’s.
