Forms of Communication

Effectual communication in the business or workplace assumes a significant role in creating long-standing staff motivation. This is because an effectual form of communication ensures that instructions along with feedbacks are passed in a clear and precise manner. Effective communication ultimately ensures a strengthened relationship between staffs and the administration.

My place of work in order to ensure an effective, clear and cost effective communication has adopted video conferencing as the primary form of communication. Video conferencing has been adopted since it ensures instant feedback through a ‘face-to-face’ conversation (Eunson, 2007). Owing to the geographically spread branches that the company has video conferencing enables the harmonization of the activities to be carried out and feedback regarding ongoing programs (Eunson, 2007).

I find video conferencing being the most effectual form of communication due to a number of reasons. It is regarded as form of communication possessing richness in information success (Wilcox, Gibson, & Wilcox, 2005). Our managers usually attend our meetings even when they are in the planes far away attending other to other activities. Video conferencing has enabled the company save a lot of costs such as the travel expenses. Additionally, we are able as employees to make presentations from the field, improving our productivity and saving time from having to travel back to the offices (Eunson, 2007). The company has seen improvement in communication since previous forms of communication such as emails and phone calls were insufficient and ineffective.

Every business or company in order to ensure success in their industry must streamline their communication processes. Communication in the business harmonizes operations through cost saving, better time management, increased productivity and greater output. A company must therefore adopt the most effectual form of communication to sustain the competitive advantage.
