Introduction

Life provides so many questions which man finds it hard to get answers. The attempts that have been made in the bid to understand nature and complexities of life have been futile. In regard, people don’t know the essence of life and what it was meant to for. They have developed many different views concerning it yet none is satisfying. Various sources have tried to give some insight concerning life and can help the man in getting an idea about the meaning of life. One of these sources is the Bible and specifically Paul’s message to the churches he established.

Natural world

Natural is that which is existing or is caused by nature. It did not originate from humankind. When God created man, there are specific and natural things that he expected him to be doing in this life. It applies to other creatures as well. For instance, nature dictates that that for every creature to reproduces and bears young one, a male and female creature of the same kind has to come together and mate. God expected men to reproduce through sexual intercourse between the man and women. (Tartaglia 283-303)

However, through Paul letters to the Romans, we learn in Roman 1:27 that the effects of sin can cause the man to change the natural way that God has set things to be done. They engage with unnatural practices that change the order of things and cannot lead to the expected end. For instance, men start having the sexual relations with other men instead of women has it been purposed by God.  It is changing the order of how things are supposed to be in the natural world; the same results cannot be realized through doing things opposite of the way they are supposed to be done.

Human identity

Humanly is sinful by nature. It is hard to meet the standard that God expect from him so that he can please Him through his practices. However, to deal with the sinful nature and have the change of man’s identity, Paul teaches the church in Roman (roman 8:3) that God sent Jesus His own Son in the likeness of a sinful man to be the sin offering. He suffered, mistreated and inflicted so much pain on men behave. Later he was crucified on the cross and died. Hence, he condemned sin in the sinful man.

Therefore, the identity of the man is found in Jesus, He took the place of man and suffered on his behave so that God can have back the broken relationship between Him and man. It is in this regard that in verse 14 of the same chapter we learn that God now refers to human being as His sons. Hence, everyone who believes in Jesus has found a new identity in Him. The people who are yet to believe in him are still in the identity crisis.

Human relationship

The man is a social being, and he always likes to relate with others in various ways. Such relationships are of a different kind and they help to bring people together and live in unity. According to Roman 1, Paul wants to demonstrate the critical of human relationship and its benefits. In verse 11, he is longing to see the Romans so that he can impact them some spiritual gifts that will help them grow and mature in God. In verse 10, he states that He prays that God will open a way for him to visit the Roman church. (Moody 254-255)

Therefore, Paul relationship with the Roman church was beneficial in the sense that he was helping them to grow up spiritual. Hence, the human relationship should be defined by love. People should always seek to add a positive value to those they are in a relationship with.  A relationship which is not founded on love for one another and the need to improve the lives of people should not be worth establishing.  Like Paul, the man should always be driven by a desire to help those he relates with to get the next level of life.

Culture

Every human observes a particular culture; this is a way of life that is passed down from generation to generation. Most cultural practices of many communities like the Jews describe in the book of Roman included some rites of passage like circumcision (roman 2:25-26). The young men were being circumcised after attaining some age. There were other many practices which used to define culture among the Jews. Same way today, every society has different cultures which they practice and pass from generation to generations.

However, in verse 26, Paul teaches that culture changes when the man comes to Jesus. The only culture that he is supposed to practice is the one that leads to heart transformations. All the other kind of culture practiced by man serve no purpose since they don’t help to improve someone character.  It is the Spirit of God who can help one adopt the kind of Culture that leads to the circumcision of the heart . It is effective and brings about growth and maturity in human beings.  (Hill 55.2-57)

Conclusion

Therefore, it is apparent that bible is a good source that helps man to approach the complexities of life. Paul sermon to the church of Romans is so timely and applicable in all the societies today. It touches on all the aspects of human life and the right purpose to pursue in life. Hence, life finds its meaning when the man goes back to God. He is the creator of life and therefore knows the reason for the existence of everyone.
