Starting my visit to The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, I was unsure of what am I was going to elaborate on the paper specifically. I can start out by saying that I have never been to the The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago in my life. I decided in order to make this experience unique I would use the train to the city. I was prepared explore the whole city on my way to the museum. I have got to say that this museum that I happen to be visit was out of my expectations. I realize that the museum was highly cultured and filled with diverse and a lot of modern influencer on the public. Getting into the museum it was very beautiful from the dimension of spacing to the lighting. The lighting was very bright and alive and especially with glass window letting light in the building.
The architectures incharge of Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago building definitely did a great job. The building had four floor of the exhibition hall that were gorgeous. The Museum of Contemporary Art to me seems like a great representation artist of this recent generation of their art. The motto carried by the museum is to be helpful as possible to visitor. Museum workers were doing the most help visitors with questions. Although the art piece had detail of them on the side, it was still nice to have helpers. My favorite works of art that I came across was the Ganz Grosse Geister (Big Spirits XL), 2004. The Ganz Grosse Geister is sculpture that also goes the name Big Spirit XL. This art was created Thomas Schütte in 2004. Thomas Schütte was a german contemporary artist who happened to sculpts and creates architectural figures. The piece was installed in 2005 outside the Museum of Contemporary art, on the patio by the entrance. Ganz Grosse Geister is considered one of the greatest as for Thomas Schütte works of all time. Why I picked this is because it brought me a happy vibe.
As you can see it’s colorful and they sure seem to be enjoying themselves. (Picture )Another piece that was appealing to me is the Black Artist (Studio View) 2002. First thing that came to mind when I saw this was that it was really dark. This piece attracted because I see some of my life experience when I came across it. It turns out this piece is by Kerry James Marshall, who is artist i actually knew before visiting the museum. This also happens to be part of a broader series of photographs named Black Light. Photographs take charge in this series to have art ultraviolet light. The image illustrates a man sitting back on a couch in the dark. You can also see a desk and artworks of his the back. Apparently the Black Light series is to show the people the concept of invisible and visible light in society.
