As humans, the value of money is something that we struggle a lot. Advertising, promotion, social media, pictures, and podcast regularly fill us with the idea of how we should expend our money. Inside our culture, we seek to achieve the American dream, which means to be able to have “success and be able to build a family. ” With these ideas, society has created the idea that to be successful we need a lot of money. These behaviors lead us to create a culture where money is more important than family, community, helping the poor among others. We have created a society that cares more about satisfying ourselves and not our needs. Don’t take wrong; money is part of our daily life. We have to recognize that is not about the money, but the love we have for, and the uses we do with it. When money became the center of our heart and the center of all, then our hope and refuge became part of it, instead of God. Recognizing the use of our money can be a significant change in our life and even in our local community.

When we look at Dr. V and David Green social entrepreneurship, he realized that south India suffers one of the highest rates of blindness. Being blind in India can be an incurable disease. Because most of the people of this region are poor, it is challenging to get out of it. If we see a case like this, our reaction will feel sorry for it, and you would not do anything about it. We would not take the time to get into a deep understanding of why this problem is happening. However, the reaction of Dr. V was different. He decided to act. Wirzba argues that how do we spend our money can reflect our priority. Believe it or not, the way we spend our money can reveal who we are as a person. Many of us spend a lot of time and energy to make money. We usually devote a lot of effort in searching to buy new clothes, shoes, or phones, but we do not tend to put much effort into asking ourselves, in what way I can use my money to be a better person and to help those who need it?, and this was a question that Dr. V asked. He made a lot of surgery before, but this time he wants to address a need. In this case, he wants to be able to decrease the number of blindness in India. He wants to create a business where he could feel part of it and that he could help decrease severe disease. If we take Wirzba perspective, we can say that Dr. V was making sure “everyone should have access to the source of life.

We all need each other, and by facilitating and helping with each other needs, we can make a significant impact in the economy. In a Christian perspective, we need to understand the idea that God is the owner of all we have. An excellent human economy that is defines and values human goods, and like the great Economy, it conserves and protects its goods. It is when we are inside the economy that we can fulfill God purpose. For instead when we perceive the economy as part of God can lead us to achieve God’s mission. Using our natural talents to bless others, as well as, forgetting how much profit we can get out of it can serve as a thankfulness gift to God. As a society, we have to start recognizing that everything we have belongs to God. The administration of our money requires that we actively engage in the use and distribution of God’s resources to achieve no our goals but his goals. This act does not only include giving but continually seeking to use our talent to satisfy people needs. We have to understand that God has such a deep love for all his creation.

Therefore, we, as a Church, should support our local community, especially the poor. To conclude, we must be honest with our finances, apply biblical principles and plan to participate and invest in what God has put in our heart.
