 For this question, let’s assume that you have been invited by SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey to give a 15 minute talk to the annual joint meeting of key leaders of the Southeastern Conference. His invitation asks that you “describe some of the major health and safety issues facing organized sports, particularly the current concussion crisis” and “provide the SEC leadership with insights as to how to make competing in SEC college sports safer for their athletes.” The leagues’ 14 athletic directors, senior woman administrators, and faculty athletic representatives attend this meeting each May to discuss pending SEC and NCAA legislation, and to receive briefings from key stakeholders of the league. Thus, this is an ideal time to persuade the key decision makers in the conference to act on behalf of the well-being and future (i.e., life after sports) success of their student-athletes. In your talk, include the following points: a. Provide a brief history of the NFL concussion crisis. (around 250 words)
