Do you worry for the world? This interrogative statement is immensely thought provoking. It immediately prompts people solve problems surrounding them. Worries come from concern about world pain and therefore turn out to be the direct call to action. The practicality of the question is that worry compels people to take action to eliminate the problems that evoke sorrows. This can only be done by reducing the world pain, termed by Edith Kramer as Weltschmerz (Gerity, n.d.).
What it tries to highlight is that the world, packed with countless challenges is often full of sorrows that can expressly weigh people down to the extent of beginning to wonder what actions need to be taken. The moment people start figuring a way out, they develop solutions to their sorrows. All of a sudden, creativity is immensely enhanced. They begin realizing that world problems are actually solvable. This builds in them a sense of serenity and confidence, and worries begin to subside.
The only way success can come out of worrying about the world is taking a socially relevant action by finding one’s way as a response to the problem. Christine subtly directs people to a more immersive lifestyle, packed with great creativity and involvement as opposed to the largely dependent culture the modern man has embraced. She describes the overly dependent culture as a fast-food mindset. This mindset is easily drawn towards ready solutions (Gerity, n.d).
For success to abound, the world need not look for ready-made solutions. Absolute involvement in seeking solutions provides rich grounds for growth. Involvement works well in situations that require organization and teamwork like running a social community art program. This is what is called affirmative action (Gächter & Dzhengozova, 2008). It involves investing more time in handling tasks that enhance creativity, making ideas and results constantly fresh.
The relevance of creativity is that most problems people face are unique and, therefore, require unique approaches. The solution presented for a problem yesterday might not work for the same problem today given many dynamics and variables in real life situations. Creating custom solutions to every worry and sorrow keeps ideas unfolding, growing and captivating.
