“Hispanic/Latino What’s In A Name?”

The cultural group regarded as newcomers in America or considered, as immigrants in America are actually the spawns of a group that existed in that country many years ago. The roots of those graded as strangers date back but the American society have deceived them to emerge in a classless society. Moreover, the subdivision entailed of stereotyping the ethnic groups, a notion that was suppressed by the civil rights movement. Ethnic groups were equally diversified to fit in the newly immigrants from Latin America although their roots dated back to life in America.

Moreover, with discussion revolving around the term “ethnicity”, which is a term that refers to non-Christians, more so, heathens and pagans there has been a difference in application of ethnicity in the US, where individuals have seemingly used Hispanic as a product of discrimination directed to Latinos. Recently, A Spanish columnist denoted “Hispanics” as a name used to refer to Latin Americans with black skins or are obvious half-breeds (Yankauer 15). Nonetheless, discrimination is no new to America, and immigrants from all countries in the world endure humiliation from the powerful. Recent immigrants, mostly Hispanics are only comparable to blacks from poor backgrounds and with poor education and perceived as subjects of suspicion.

Subsequently, characterization of a certain ethnical population is persuaded by certain variables such as populations’ health, and health services. However, characteristics like education and social economic factors are determined by the access to health services that is also a depiction of diet, lifestyle, occupation, and housing. Additionally, the ethnicity labeled as Hispanics has a genetic background that is diverse in terms of culture, traditions, and country of origin. Lastly, they are subdivided to the forefathers’ settlement as well as disparities in social class thus difficulties in characterizing their concrete numbers
