Week 6 Discussion on Zappo’s Marketing Strategies
Zappo’s is a company selling many products created after the founder who was searching for a pair of shoes and after searching from different mall without gain, he embraced the online idea. The marketing strategy for Zappo’s is fashion and being a voice for the customers. Their solution is ‘right message right time’ whereby they do not define who they are but their customers should define who they are. In their marketing strategy, Zappo’s delivers the exact product that is purchased online through eliminating shipping cost and free return overnight.
They have collaborated with Google to have an ad where if in Google search you type the word shoes, the Zappo’s option appears. This strategy ensures that they capture the users in need of shoes online by giving them an option to check with Zappo. They attract their users in multiple channels with multiple choices. They attract customers based on the product’s actual value and broad selection. While using this mode of marketing, Zappo pays Google for every time their ad is clicked. I like Zappo’s idea of working out the online disadvantage of not trying before wearing with investing in an effective call center and free shipping.
