Beverly Hills

He won at the end of the electioneering period in Beverly Hills but the rate of loyalty that the votes showed indicated that he could have easily been defeated by Clinton (Ulin). The figures that came out during the election period exhibited the strength of free will in people. The expectations that people had about Beverly Hills were not met when people almost voted both candidates equally. This beat the expectation that trump would win with a landslide in his neighbourhood. Olin speaks about this election as both a politically and economically inspired exercise. The students in Beverly Hills went out to the streets to protest against the building of a subway underneath the school. This is a project that put the children of Americans in danger for economic gain. It is a project that beats reason both politically and economically. The location may be ideal but the cost of establishing it at the specific point is not worth it. 

The speaker is of the idea that the voice of the people at Beverly Hills is not getting to the government through all the representative bodies. The parents and members of the Beverly Hills community have regally tried to go to court to stop the construction of the subway but have failed and the experts do not also support their views that their children will be in danger. The speaker is of the opinion that the president may decide to heed to the pleas by the members of the Beverly Hills community to stop the contraction of the Purple Line and put the parents at ease about the safety of their children. However, when their demands for the subway project is heeded, it remains a part of Los Angeles that is set apart. They lack direct connection with the rest of Los Angeles despite being in the same state. This situation strengthens the Marxist ideas of capitalism. The affluence that is in Beverly Hill is sufficient to have them live as they are without needing the rest of Los Angeles. This means that because Beverly Hills has the mighty and wealthy, the failure of the project will prevent the rest of Los Angeles from interacting with Beverly Hills Freely.

There is a clash between the safety of the students under whose school a subway project needs to be accomplished and the need for Beverly Hills to have a connection to the rest of Los Angeles. These two items carry a weight that cannot be overlooked. The experts have tried to convince the people at Beverly Hills that there are no safety risks but the fact that a construction that requires digging a tunnel underneath the school is involved, does not make anybody secured about the process. The clash of interests in this project is between the interests of the national government and the interests of the people of Beverly Hills. The people of Beverly Hills are concerned about their safety at the moment, which is understandable but not in the future prospects of opening up their space for access by people from neighbouring areas. The area of Beverly Hills needs to be connected to the rest of Los Angeles so that the people living in it stop being detached from their neighbours yet they share some of the amenities. 

The solution for the crisis is to build the tunnel when schools are closed and ensure that the safety tests are done during that period as well. The parents and the government should have a meeting and discuss the project at length. This will help put the parents at ease and even when the government refuses to stop the construction, the parents will have heard from the experts. This is a very important factor in the consecration of the subway project. It will either earn or lose the government political mileage and the president loses credibility in his own neighbourhood given that he has a home in the area. The people in Beverly Hills could easily find an alternative school area for their children and allow the project to go on. However, the affluent people do not find it necessary to open up their neighbourhood and as such cannot welcome the idea of moving the school. This is a selfish move but in their society, they are doing right by their children.
