The Problem of Evil

The problem of evil is that it tries to be seen as the omnipotent (all-powerful) and
omnipresent (all-knowing). The case of evil is a serious problem in the world, and it is a
known objection to existence of other worshipped beings. Most religions believe that the
Creator created and always sustain the world, knows all things, and wants the best for His
creation. The problem of evil claims that if the arguments are valid, there would be no
suffering, and the creator would not allow evil in the world.
The existence of evil in the world is viewed by other religions as not that active, for
instance, a Greek philosopher, Epicurus, speculated that if the Creator exists, then He is
omnipotent, omnipresent, and perfectly good. However, there is evil in the world, thus, the
conclusion that there is no existence of the Creator of the world. The existence of suffering
and evil in the world has posed serious challenges to the belief in a perfect creator existence.
There are four forms of the argument evil: the argument of natural evil, the argument
of imperfection, argument of unbelief, and argument of moral evil. Each represents a
different theist problem and a different belief on the theism truth and they are mutually
consistent and always proposed together. They all start with the assertion that if a creator
existed, then the world would improve to certain standards, therefore, this claim is supported
by a consideration of the creator’s nature and a suggestion that if He existed, He would meet
the universe anticipated standard.

Many philosophical debates focus on the propositions that a creator cannot exist, with
defenders of theism arguing that a creator exists and allows evil so as to test the human’s
faith. A certain philosopher argued that the accounting for moral evil is the outcome of the
human action and free will, and he concludes that there is a logical possibility of the
existence of a ‘mighty non-human spirit’. Some philosophers support this argument as it
solves the logical problem of evil, by illustrating the existence of ‘a powerful non-human
spirit’ that causes evil in spite of the creator’s desire for the non-existence of evil thus
overpowering Him. The virtue argues that the creator permits types of suffering and evil for
certain attributes in the world and cannot give up the virtues without allowing suffering and
evil. He had a choice of creating an all-good world with no virtues depending on suffering
and evil but He created something else intentionally.
There are denials of evil existence, using the private theory, whereby an author
explained the existence of evil as a privation. With its lack of a positive reality, evil cannot be
made to exist, thus, the creator cannot be held responsible for its existence. Some
philosophers have argued as there is the existence of a problem of evil. For theists who
believe in an omnipotent, omnibenevolent, and omniscient being, there is also a problem of
who is to worshipped to all who believe in omnipotent, omniscient and Omni malevolent evil
being. A certain Christian philosopher, has provided several answers to the problem of
suffering saying that God might use evil to facilitate long-range benefits. He created the evil
possibility but not evil itself, the death of the son of the creator and suffering on the cross is a
supreme triumph of the devil, the creator uses moral suffering in bringing out character.
In conclusion, evil exists in the world and its problem is that it causes much suffering
to the human beings in the world. Evil wants to compare its superiority with other
worshipped beings in the world. Various religion belief in the existence of a supreme creator.
