II.    Military Revolutions underwent dramatic changes over time.

1. Military revolutions underwent dramatic changes over the centuries from the few people who defended their local communities to the emergence and clashes between huge armies evident on an industrial scale. 
2. Major military revolutions occurred in modern Europe due to the advancement in society and technology, prompting governments to progress in the art of war.
3. Several theorists have been  proposed on Miliary evolution.

• Robert suggested that it occurred between 1560 and 1660 evident in the development of linear tactics that took advantage of the more effective gunpowder weapons.
•  Jeremy Black theorized that it took place between 1660 and 1710 characterized by the exponential growth witnessed in the European armies.

4. Dramatic  changes in military revolutions are theorized by Rogers, Clifford who argues that successive military revolution took place at varying times. 

• It started with the infantry revolution during the fourteenth century, an artillery revolution in the fifteenth century, the fortification revolution in the sixteenth century, the fire weapons revolution in the seventeenth century and final revolution evident in the eighteenth century. 
• During the last revolution, there was an increased size of armies and the achievement of greater military supremacy by the European armies over other troops across the globe.

1. Military revolutions led to significant changes in European warfare. 

• The revolution started with the use of bows, lances, and arrows, transforming to the use of firearms and pikes and later to the use of complicated guns. 
• Revolutions led to the formation of vast numbers of armies leading to change of tactics coupled with the increasing number of professional soldiers who mastered the emerging forms. 
• The changes in military warfare led to changes in states and nations evident by the replacement of the feudal monarchies with modern states. 
• The government apparatus enlarged and  became more sophisticated, particularly relating to the maintenance and rising of its armies.

2. The dynamic military technology during the military revolutions prompted governments’ expansion.

• Thefielding of the vast armies who used sophisticated weapons and flexible tactics required professional soldiers to replace the previously temporary raised soldiers.
•  The large standing armies meant greater governmental control evident by the European’s superiority over other armies across the world.

3. Military revolutions benefited modern nations and states.

• Military history has enabled learning from past mistakes and accomplishments leading to the formation of the best strategies to wage war in the future. 
• It has created a military tradition essential in the creation of unified military forces. 
• Military revolutions have enabled states to derive the best ways to prevent war with other countries effectively.

IV. Conclusion

Military professionals play a fundamental role in the existence and progression of modern nations and states. Military professionals are authorized by the sovereign state to utilize lethal weapons and force to offer support of its interests. They mainly comprise the air force, navy, and army. They are mostly tasked to protect the state, its citizens and to prosecute the war against other nations. Furthermore, military professionals play different roles in the country, including promoting its political agenda, internal population control, protect the state’s corporate and economic interests, emergency services, construction, social ceremonies, and protection of the state vital areas including military installations.
