Impacts of organizational interventions

Impacts of organizational interventions usually get studied within a design of a control group that is non-equivalent, with the self-report measures such as pre-test and post-test variables. The changes from the post-test and pre-test measures do have several definitions based on the procedures assumed to be responsible for the specific alteration. There are three forms of variations, which are gamma, beta and alpha changes. The following paragraph is a description of the three forms of variation.

Given a calibrated measuring tool that has a connection with a conceptual domain that is constant, Alpha change comprises of a disparity in existential state level. Alpha change is a disparity that does not include a change in standard nor reconceptualization. Thus if there are changes in feedback, these changes are likely reflected in reality accurately.

Example

The involvement level changes examined by Amazon Inc. are likely to reflect the actual participation changes. 

On the other hand, Beta change always gets complicated by the fact that continuum measurement intervals has a connection with the conceptual domain that has gone through recalibration. According to individual perception, change do not occur in the real definition. Instead, it occurs in standards one applies to examine the phenomenon.

Example

 The judgment used in describing existence level of the management style in Amazon Inc. could vary when an individual access a better knowledge based on the entire continuum size of the form of management used in the company. Thus, one may feel that getting involved applies to a medium degree when he or she do not know the purpose for participation. When he or she becomes aware of the participation objectives, then the examination of the same idea may well shift to either high or low. 

However, Gamma change comprises of redefining of some domain, a significant difference in the reference perspective in which the concept gets considered, classified and perceived significant in real life. Gamma change can be an indicator of a situation where variation intervention aims at modifying the style of management in a company. In many cases the intervention team in a company may have conceptualized management procedure as suggested in the authority relationship, later they may view the process from a different and new perspective. 

Example

If the intervention managers of Amazon Inc. have conceptualized the process of management, they will have a new and distinct perception of the procedure. The management may view the strategy as refined influence process that the assumptions about the commitment of the workers and their abilities are entirely different and that differentials’ power virtually does not exist. 

 Define and explain the term strategy in the context of organizational dynamics. One can define strategy as a dynamic plan that provides the way in which the organization will achieve its objectives and vision. Given that it is a dynamic idea, it likely to change depending on the situation. 

Example

If a company like Amazon Inc. adopts the appropriate strategy, it will be able to attain its vision which is to create an environment where consumers can access everything that they want to purchase online. Also, a suitable strategy will allow the company to attain its objectives. Even though the goals of the company may not change, the strategy that it applies in achieving them is likely to change. 

Additionally, the key objective of a company may be to access the global market. Therefore, they would need to come up with a strategy that will ensure that they attain this goal. However, if another company comes in offering the same product, then the firm will need to design another method, since the initial strategy many fails. At the same time, the firm may change its vision at time progresses. Thus, the company will need a new approach to ensure success in its operations. 

Example

A company like Amazon Inc. which provides consumers with an environment to buy products online will need to change their strategy in a situation where there is a company that deals with the same line of service. At the same time, to ensure success, Amazon Inc. will need to alter its vision, by including additional services that it will offer to the consumers so that it can maintain a competitive advantage. Thus it will ensure the success of the company. Therefore, in the context of organizational dynamics, the strategy is an idea that helps a company with a plot on how it can able to attain the set goals and vision.
