A U 7 9: A Tracker Novel by Anita Dickason

Stuart Dyson disappears and it seems the investigation is stalling. FBI Tracker comes in to find out why and possibly find the missing Texas ATF agent. All he can find are dead ends and false leads. It is frustrating The Trackers are more determined than ever to each put their best foot forward and uncover the big mystery surrounding the agent’s disappearance. It surely would be easier if the local agent were not so determined to be difficult. 

Adrian meets Tracy, Dyson’s fiancé. She is apprehensive and passive but still semi-cooperative. She is obviously hiding something. Something that could make hers the next body to drop. Homeland Security and the President become involved and Tracy goes missing. Now Adrian must scramble before one more person dies. The Trackers are running out of time and ideas. Clock is ticking.

Anita Dickason has weaved an intriguing mystery from a real life story. She has stimulated the imagination of the reader with her vivid descriptions of action scenes and suspenseful narrative. She is obviously vastly knowledgeable of the intricacies of investigations. Her writing is buckets full of little but incredibly significant tidbits that work well to plunge the reader into the thick of it. She packs a considerable amount of thrill with every lead Adrian has to chase down. One cannot help but be disappointed when it turns out dead or false. This only goes to bring the reader closer to the edge. You will teeter right there until she finally packs that punch that will effectively knock you over with the most unexpected turn of events. 

Each character from Adrian to Tracy to computer geek Nicki is sufficiently developed. The author does not delve into their personal lives but rather develops them such that their professional lives are more than enough to have the reader connect with them. Tracy’s character is especially captivating. Any woman in her place would be in tears the whole time. But not Tracy, she is strong and hardy as an officer of the law should be. However, beneath all of that is a woman committed to truth and justice. Nicki is quirky as would be expected of a computer genius. Bottom line is, the author has done a great job with character development. She has properly and appropriately molded the characters into people the readers can develop a relationship with throughout the series. Also, what is that between Tracy and Adrian at the end? 

This book is all action. It is mystery. It is intrigue. It is interesting. It is well crafted. It is impressive. It is apt. It is everything a fast-paced investigative thriller should be. Five stars for A u 7 9. Perhaps, a little something more for that clever title.
