The Community

It is always important for parents, teachers, and the community to get involved in the lives of their children in school. The involvement of parents, family, and the community as a whole in the education and students performance helps schools improve. According to Núñez et al. (2015), when the community works together to understand what goes on with their children in school, and actively participate in their day-to-day school life, then there is an assurance of high grades. Ideally, when parents and family members get involved in what their children are up to in school, they help to come up with better performance in school. 

 One of the advantages that come with the involvement of the community in schools is improved outcomes for students. In most cases, students who have a better relationship with their teachers and have their parents play an active role in their schoolwork get higher scores. Gestwicki (2015) explains that parents, teachers, and the community as a whole have the ability to promote a better learning environment for students, and in return ensure that they push themselves to reach better grades. Therefore, it is important for the community to cultivate a healthy working relationship between them and the students since the lack of a relationship is a recipe for disconnection in school and bad performance. 

Parental and communal involvement in the lives of students in school helps develop better interactions. Through the development of better interactions, parents will relate with their children well at home, and help children build positive relationships with their teachers (Van Voorhis et al. 2013). These relationships will ensure that both parents, teachers, and the community as a whole participate in what the children are doing in school on a day-to-day basis, and help when the need arises. The collaboration will also nurture a relationship between the younger children and the adults in their lives, and in return ensure they are comfortable to ask for help.
