Call of the Falconer by David W. Thompson

Some stories are just cozy. They may not be about the most endearing of subjects but they just compel the reader to get comfortable and warm as they take the literary trip. This story is one of those. It is an apocalyptic tale but still give off a campfire vibe. 

The Call of the Falconer is a tale of very unusual protagonists. This group often falls through the cracks of society. Often misunderstood and mal-judged. The author presents the journey of their survival in a short enjoyable read. It is a sort of stage for the underdog. 

This author is known for his artistic flare and diligent writing. This is a fairly new territory for him but he still manages to carry those qualities with him. He exhibits a mastery of the language. By weaving simple language into a masterpiece of literary greatness. This book is the epitome of simplicity and stylistic appeal. 

For a book about the apocalypse, it is surprisingly vivid and sensible. The author does not run wild with weird pronouncements and character traits. He keeps it well within the realm of sanity but still achieve a whimsical air. It is very vivid and well narrated. This is a delightful display of craft and pain staking allure for the yonder. 

Take your time. Enjoy the ride the author deems to take you on. Do not take this so seriously. Just sit back and enjoy a story. Let the voice of the author transport you. Let the words and sentences wash over you. Five stars out of five for this book.
