A viable tourism enhancement has engrossed a significant consideration in many scientific studies. Tourism has posed as an important sector in the development of the economy through the creation of employment and generation of revenue hence the need to pay attention to the means of advancing the sector. Transport and communication means play a great role in advancing the tourism sector. This calls for improvement in infrastructure and superstructure which are the key pillars in promoting tourism in order to secure positive benefits in the field (Teoman, 2016).

Furthermore, many tourists demand and emphasize more on travel and destination experiences. This has forced the tourism key players to provide better tourism services and offer quality products to attract tourists. The destinations for tourist-friendliness are created by sound infrastructure and superstructures which include lodgings, hotels and restaurants and sufficient transport and communication means. The superstructure is meant to comprise of complete facilities to accommodate the basic needs of the tourists and have enough space that gratifies their quest and enhance their motivation to stay longer at the tourist site (Specht, 2014). . These two aspects are considered as very important in ensuring that the demands for the tourists are met. The tourist site must involve plenty of activities to keep the tourists occupied. According to Ali, if a tourist enjoys a good experience, the chances of revisiting the place are very high. He also states that infrastructure relates to the demand and the supply analysis. Thus, the role of infrastructure cannot be ignored.

The superstructure which includes mostly accommodation and customer experience through the culture, the institutional relations and the technology has a great impact in tourism development. Through the superstructure, our interpersonal relations are regulated in terms of the social guidelines for the human activity. In studying the infrastructure and superstructure in Turkey by Samet Guner, he realized that the tourism in the seaports was gradually weakening due to high expenses and labour productivity. The study showed that private seaports exhibit better performance in superstructure financial and operational efficiency whereas the public ones are superior in infrastructure efficiency. However, public seaports suffer from poor management while private seaports suffer from an inappropriate size of scale.

A research by Gold Open Access defines accessibility as the gateway to tourism destination and the availability of transport and recreational facilities. The research says that a good and quality accommodation enhances tourists’ satisfaction and influences their word-of-mouth recommendations which attract new customers. Superstructure which can be enhanced by entertainment activities like dances, plays, and shows is also a core attractor which determines the tourist’s destination attractiveness (Hong, 2008). The entertainment keeps the visitors occupied and utilize their time awesomely hence avoiding boringness. On the other hand, Taylor and Francis state that tourism requires good superstructure to enhance awareness of the tourists towards the tourism destination leading to enhancement of destination appeal.

An attractive tourism destination plays an important role in providing memorable and satisfying experiences to the visitors hence developing the tourism industry. A research by Josue Antonio and others explicated that an efficient destination should understand the dynamic forces of success to develop significant effectiveness. This is highly influenced by the accessibility quality for the tourists to make travels and entries to the destination. Hence superstructure and infrastructure go hand in hand in determining the development of the tourism industry (Aneja, 2013).
