Tonsillectomy

Tonsillectomy is a procedure I am sure, you would not like your child to undergo based on several reasons. Firstly, the tool that is used to perform the procedure today was introduced in 1828 and remained in operation for a gruesome 80 years. Modern patients have been saved from the tonsil guillotine, which wreaked havoc on the throats of many, most of them children. Unfortunately, several decades later, the procedure is still largely practiced.

Talking of tonsillectomy, it is a painful procedure that I believe with the current advancement in technology should be easy to treat the swelling glands. In light of this, it is important to consider the following.  Firstly, is there no drug to control the swelling of the glands at this time of civilization when people are shooting robots to the sun? Secondly,  why would the operation deny a human being the privilege of having thyroid glands? The medical fraternity should come up with means and ways of bringing the gland under control, instead of getting rid of it completely. For instance, they should come up with simple pills or injections that are aimed at taming the organ. By advocating for surgery, it is like suggesting that if one has a problem with their eye, their heart, or any other organ they should remove it. This is a completely lazy way of solving the problem with glands. Julien-Marsollier et al. (2018) observed that patients who undergo the operation risk having respiratory problems. In particular, it is creating a problem while solving the other, which should not be the case. It is unethical to purport to solve a problem yet in the process you create another, which is even more potent. The future will not accept this.
