I feel that the process of revising an essay is the most important step. The step determines how best a written essay can be read and understood. After finishing the writing process, it is crucial that a writer reads the essay twice to correct mistakes and improve the flow of the content. The second reading stage entails the writer reading out the words one by one, aloud. In the process, the reader can easily identify mistakes and correct them in the process. Additionally, the reader can easily tell the places that require punctuation marks. It is at this stage when a writer can notice the use of improper language, grammatical errors, and even use of long as well as short sentences. Moreover, while reading through, the writer can easily tell if the question is answered in the right manner that can be easily understood by the audience.
When approaching a writing assignment, I feel confident that I will be able to write according to the knowledge I have acquired and produce great work. Equipping myself with the seven stages that constitute writing gives me the confidence that I need to approach the writing process. As a writer, I must be able to detach myself from bias and an incline to write a nonfactual essay. Putting down my thoughts entails listening to my inner voice, which will not only enable me to get better preparation before writing but also enhance my concentration and boost my confidence. Listening to my voice will help me in deciding whether I have what it takes to write. Confidence in writing is enhanced by packaging oneself with enough artillery. Moreover, the basic component in writing is the identification of the subject and the audience. Listing down supporting evidence is also critical to the writing process. My confidence is enhanced by the fact that I am well aware of the qualities of a good essay.
My writing process begins by scheming through the manuscript in an attempt to identify and get into the context of the subject. Identifying the subject is essential because it gives me an overview of what I am going to write. Second, I identify the sources that I will use, and thirdly, the audience that I will be addressing in the essay. Knowing my audience goes a long way in phrasing the subject to fit the audience. This phrasing procedure is essential in that I will be in a position to write my points in a manner in which the audience will understand. After this, I approach the body paragraphs using a topic sentence. At this stage, I note down the topic sentences for every paragraph and in each case, I provide evidence to support my points. Most of the time, these pieces of evidence are a direct quotation from credible sources that I had identified. The next step is the explanation. While explaining, I ensure that I use as many examples as possible, considering the understanding of my audience. After this, I conclude my paragraphs with both a summarizing sentence and a transitioning sentence that gives a connection to the paragraph that follows. Then I write the conclusion, which, I begin by restating the thesis statement using my own words. This acts a reminder of the subject to the reader of my essay. After this, I summarize all the points that I have written in the body paragraphs in a manner to show their synthesis.
