Technology and globalization

The relationship between advances in technology and the responsibilities of global citizenship.

Global citizenship is responsible for quality education and it emphasizes that internationalization is a means and not an end (Olson et al. 2007). Quality education means that people use up to date material to learn. Advancement in technology ensures that learning material is constantly updated with the current information easily and without any problems. Advanced technology also ensures that educators deliver information to learners in the most appropriate way. Advanced technology makes it easier and fast to internationalize, for example through the internet and the wireless communication. Without advanced technology, internationalization would be a topic unheard of. This is because it would mean that people travel physically to foreign nations which would mean that travelling is done only in a few nations.

Description of how technology has changed the way in which people pursue knowledge and how they address social concerns.

Advanced technology has enabled people to share the knowledge that they have through the internet. Unlike those days when knowledge was obtained from books, Innovation of gadgets that access the internet easily and instantly, such as cell phones and personal computers, has also made people acquire up-to-date knowledge at any given time. Technology, such as the use of social medial enables individuals to send or receive important educative information instantly (Linton and Walsh, 2014). Social concerns are now addressed through these innovated gadgets. Information reaches a wide range of people and feedback is received instantly.

Challenges and benefits of a technical and global community, and recognition of the impact of technological and global influences in my life.

A technical and global community is able to carry out research and thus become more educated and innovative. This leads to production of high quality products and services. This brings about the competitive advantage. However, advanced technology such as use of cellphones, ipads and iPhones pose challenges to educators once they get into the classroom. They bring distraction and make teaching difficult (Linton and Walsh, 2014).

Personally, technology has availed gadgets that have enabled me access internet easily. This has made my research and learning easy.
