If I was a boss to my employees, I would ensure that I have employed adequate skills and created a solid understanding to my employers to contribute to an effective and a strong management. Griffin, Ricky & Moorhead (15) argues that an effective management works best in coming up with measures for challenges and conflicts that arise within an organization. Application of classic ideas of management such as contemporary trends and recent developments would be my main objectives as a boss. These ideas would equip me with prior knowledge to aid me in areas such as, how to best manage my employees in times that are challenging, have a wider picture of consequences that results from downturns of the economy, be able to understand my roles, have ethical skills to be able to motivate my workers and have sufficient knowledge about my company’s and employees’ ethical standards (Fiske & Susan, 1191).
In order to be an effective leader, I would delve into industrial psychology and core concepts of my employees’ behaviors by use of real examples from relevant managers and organizations. I would utilize fresh cases that are drawn from these relevant organizations to be at a better position to equip my co-workers with resources, tools and assets to effectively enhance completion of various tasks assigned to them. As a boss, I would also develop the ability of developing new responses to deal with new challenges by learning to understand each individual who works under my supervision, understanding probable changes that would arise within my workforce and how to positively respond to these changes. Use of these managerial skills to my employees, would therefore create a very effective workforce (Fiske & Susan, 1191).
My leadership would comprise of three elements namely a strong positioning power, a well-organized task structure and good relations with my co-workers. I would as well develop situational control and leadership styles factors that would affect my ability to positively lead others. According to Karen (208), the workers effectiveness, greatly depends on the situation’s demands and the recurrent leadership styles that are utilized in the organization. As a boss therefore, I would ensure that I am using leadership styles that are most supportive, cooperative, friendly and guarded towards my co-workers.
I would ensure that my leadership behavior is of great merit to workers, and I would work on this by properly nourishing my relationship goals in the organization. First, I would ensure that, I have built solid relationships with my co-workers. By being relationship oriented helps to reduce conflicts and this creates unity amongst employees (Denhardt, Robert, Janet & Maria, 232). At instances of conflicts occurrences, we would successfully and effectively solve them together due to existence of unity amongst us.
Moreover, building these relationships with my co-workers would also equip us with better and sufficient knowledge that would aid us in making complex decisions in particular matters and issues. Other than creating solid relationships, I would also focus on being task oriented that is by assigning my employees with specific duties and seeing to it that work is done promptly and effectively. For direct services to clients, I would make sure that I have the most skilled and equipped customer care representatives who meet the needs of customers efficiently.
I would on the other hand, have the capability of leading my team in favorable situations. I would possibly attribute to these situations by ensuring that there is good decision making between us, hence reducing time wastage and ensuring that all the tasks fares well in the organization. These attributions and relationships would also lead to effective and high production to our firm. My leadership relationship with workers would be based on our degree of respect, confidence and trust. As a leader, I would make sure that there is inbuilt confidence, trust and respect amongst us to be able to cooperate in the respective tasks and duties for the success of the organization.
Employment of these three virtues by my co-workers would ensure that there is an outline of structured and clear tasks to all of these employees. Tasks that are well structured makes work to be easily, efficiently and effectively done because it is well detailed and there is also inclusion of the expected outcomes from these tasks (Griffin, Ricky & Moorhead 15). There would also be time and synergy saving because I would see to it that these tasks have been assigned to my employees in regards to their respective professional fields. Integrating these tasks by use of their professionalism would also create cooperation among workers as each one of them will have an understanding of what he/she is expected of them.
In regards to my position power, I would possess a formal authority while leading my co-workers. I would exercise a high and a strong power to influence variables such as salary increase, promotion, discipline and hiring of employees at the best of my degree. Promotion and salary increases would act as great motivations to my co-workers. These variables encourage workers to work with determination and to show commitment to their tasks. Motivating my workers, would enhance their commitment to work by observance of time and by producing outputs that are of high quality. These motivations would also ensure that there is maintenance of new and existing customers to the firm because their needs would be effectively satisfied by my workers.
I would possess more control while hiring new employees to the organization by employing workers who have adequate skills in their specific fields. One of my aims would be considering the reputation of these workers and their background experiences so as to ensure that they have sufficient knowledge and to make sure that they contributes to the success of my firm positively. Discipline also, being a vital factor, would also be a great consideration while hiring these co-workers. This would give me an assurance that I have hired workers who can have good relationships and cooperate with the existing co-workers to reduce disputes and conflicts in the work place. To deal with the above variables, I would ensure that I have practiced justice and equality which are essentials of a good leader.
As a boss to my co-workers, I would show commitment in my work so that I can create a good image to my workers hence they can therefore show their attributions by emulating my example. Working with commitment and alongside all my workers, would ensure that all work is done efficiently and at all levels. Providence of commitment to my roles, would not only earn me respect from my team, but also instill the same synergy to my employees. I would also show commitment to my promises such as salary increments and position promotion to my workers. Exercising these practices, would therefore earn me a good reputation by being a fair leader to my employees (Griffin, Ricky & Moorhead, 15).
While dealing with my workers, I would also possess a positive attitude by creating a fine balance between playfulness and productivity. The reason to this would be to motivate and devote my workers to work at their level bests at all times. I would also lead them with creativity such that I can make decisions wisely during critical situations that force my workers to seek my guidance. Being a leader to my team workers, would call for my ability to inspire them respectively. Inspiration would be a vital factor that would envision my team with the success of the firm hence inspiring them would be so crucial.
I would employ mentors to lead my workers at instances such as disputes and conflicts occurrences. These mentors would be of great importance at guiding and counselling them when such matters arise. Moreover, providing them with effective and efficient conflict resolutions would be a great privilege and a success to the firm. In addition to that, I would also create a platform where my workers get educated on how to prevent and to solve conflicts effectively (Denhardt, Robert, Jane & Maria 232).
An effective leadership is very crucial to any businesses’ success. Having good managerial skills in an organization or a firm, is a great influence to the company’s bottom line and to employees’ satisfaction. Training on good leadership skills also creates benefits in unpredictable work places where these leaders are expected to decide on the most challenging issues and situations. There is also a great need to create solid relationships between leaders and co-workers for high and effective productions.
