The Emergence of New Generations in Marketing

There have been various unmatched innovations and inventions since the onset of the twentieth century. Most industries have had to adapt to changes and preferences by the clients so as to compete favorably in both the local and the international markets. This papers seeks to analyze discuss a selected generation dubbed the “Digital Generation”, which will also be referred to as Generation Z by this paper. In its analysis, the paper will briefly explain the characteristics of the aforementioned generation and relate it to the previous generations.

The “Digital Generation” is characterized by extensive use of digital technology in communication and other social related activities. According to Homer-Dixon (39), “technology has been widely used to solve various human problems” that might not have been easily solved in the previous centuries.

Generation Z is highly motivated and committed towards delivering services. Individuals employing members of this generation expect that the employees are able to arrive at work early and work competitively until late. Members of the generation are highly trained to perform and are able to engage themselves in multiple tasks. Therefore, most employees are turning to employees Generation Z members so as to remain productive.

Communication amongst members of Generation Z is mainly dependent on mobile and computer technology. Other items largely used by Generation Z are iPads and Tablets. With these gadgets; communication is cheaper, faster and more reliable.

In conclusion, this paper has evidenced that generations are characterized by various factors. Moreover, the paper has indicated that Generation Z has gained popularity in the 21^st century due to its ability to remodel operations at the workplaces.
