You are an American radio/TV personality who is well known for your liberal views. Surprisingly, you have been invited to speak at the GOP National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. This is an annual event that is well-documented in the media. For class next week, do the following: type out the answers (it’s not an essay type paper; just put headings for each part as you answer the questions), print, and bring a copy with you next class.

a. Carry out research to determine (1) the demographic traits of the likely audience, and (2) the situational traits of your audience. Use Lucas’ (2015, pp. 98-114) discussion. Remember to provide a bibliography (and to cite within text if using information from your sources) formatted in APA or MLA. 

b. Determine what kind of topic that stays true to your fundamental values and beliefs can resonate with them. Remember to retain an audience-centered approach to planning your speech, as well as to be ethical. (You are not coming up with an actual speech but proposing a topic and justification for how it will resonate with this particular audience).
