One of the reasons why people migrate to Miami is because the state speaks their language. For example, in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, there are approximately 56 varying languages among the students. The region is unique as it attracts people from all parts of the world where it the home to Chinese, Nicaraguans, French, Russians, Argentines, Brazilians, Venezuelans, Cubans, and other foreign-born natives. Dixon (2019) explains that Miami has a growing trend of multiracialism and multiculturalism where international politics shapes the region. Organizational diversity in Miami has increased which has attracted more employees to the city which in turn increased Cuban entrepreneurs in the city.

However, between 2007 and 2015, the city prohibited the discrimination of residents based on gender identity or sexual orientation in government offices. This is one of the Cities in America that allows the transgender population to legally change their gender on their birth certificate, personal documents, and driver’s license. However, the topic is still debatable where some population supports it while others are against the emerging trend.

According to Green et al (2002), diversity results in both intangible and tangibles benefits to the organizations. For example, an organization that employees from different backgrounds, language skills, and cultural skills resulting in greater reach within an organization. Another advantage of organizational diversity is that it results in creativity providing the business with a competitive edge. If an organization embraces diversity will attract a variety of solutions as heterogeneous groups are cross-fertilizing one another. 

The second advantage of hiring a diverse group is that it increases productivity as well as a competitive advantage. Kelli et al (2012) explain that employers will be in a better position to solve customers as diverse groups’ results in new processes and ideas. Besides, it increases employees’ morale by increasing efficiency and effectiveness. Also, an organization led by diverse managers allows the leaders to instill new methods and skills to promote unity to teams. An organization requires instilling a brainstorming atmosphere where new ideas are generated. Green et al (2002) explain that organizational diversity promotes language skills and community relations where for example, in a city like Miami or Kansas with language diversity which would be beneficial while an organization plans to expand into global markets. 

Another last benefit that a business will attain from organizational diversity is that improves company reputation as employees are getting attracted to work within a diverse workforce. The knowledge that working in a company that treats workers fairly regardless of gender, ethnicity, or race is attractive. However, managing a diverse company is challenging as a manager requires identifying the combating discrimination, value of differences, and inclusiveness. Another issue that may face an organization is the challenge of losing employees and work productivity due to discrimination and legal actions and complaints against an organization. Lastly, negative behaviors and attitudes may negatively affect business as it is likely to reduce work productivity, kill morale, and working relationships.
