INTRODUCTION
Recently, my grandpa challenged me that he can outdo me in dancing; in the same discussion, he confessed that he missed his old days when he would party all night. Perfect, I invited him for a challenge in a nearby night club, after all, who cares! At the entrance of the club, the bouncer, who looked like he had stuck some African yams in his sleeves, allowed me in but insisted on seeing my grandpas I.D.
Ahah! Age is catching up and it isn’t a must that you look like it, you can at least confuse us with a spruced up look. By the way, if my grandpa uncovered his hood the bouncer would have confused him with a forest after invasion by loggers.
After the bouncer incidence, I decided to do some research to identify what makes my grandpa look so young. To my amusement, he mentioned Botox, something that pushed me to the world of dermatology from where I earn my living. You are lucky to be among the very first group am giving a speech on Botox, I have seen it work as much as I have studied it. Maintain the focus.
This speech dwells on the concept of Botox and how it can be used to increase both beauty and health. The speech focuses on explaining what Botox is, how it works, its pros and cons and finally conclusions about this wonderful health and cosmetic procedure.
I work as a dermatologist and in my daily practice, I specialize in Botox treatments, both for cosmetic and/or medical reasons
BODY
There are those of us who look blank when I mention Botox, what is it? Botox is an injectable that works as an anti-wrinkle treatment. It is the most popular of the anti-wrinke injectable; others include Dysport and Xeomin (Dressler, 2010). Through Botox, makes one look more young and full of life. One is able, through this procedure to reduce their rate of aging. Botox is a form of plastic surgery and it is gaining prominence among the young and middle aged populace as observed by Slevec & Tiggermann (2010). This is how it is conducted.
Botox is not an all kind of hand affair; it requires professionally trained hands to notice and treat. For those who notice some deep sited wrinkles and skin thinning this procedure is for them; they are mostly in their late 30s and early 40s, but not more than 65 years old. The working of Botox is neurological. Botox works by blocking nerves that operate facial muscles. Injected muscles no longer contract; those muscles drooping out of sun damage or gravity might not respond to Botox. The benefits of the Botox are immense.
Botox has many pros but it has cons as well. Botox gives this refreshing look. Drooping brows make individuals look unhappy and tired at all times despite being happy and wake most of the times and a solution for this is necessary. Botox reduces migraine pains by reducing symptoms like nausea and light as explained by Silberstein (2000). Botox is a procedure that has its downside as well which manifest as side effects. The Botox procedure leads to headaches. Botox does not go well with pills such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, or supplements since these pills increase bleeding at the injection sites. The concept of Botox is complex and requires to be applied by a professional dermatologist or a plastic surgeon otherwise the results can be disastrous. Patients who use Botox should not expect the effects of the procedure to last a lifetime. It lasts for 3 months and the procedure needs to be repeated. The active period of Botox brings us to the conclusion.
CONCLUSION
Botox should be applied by a trained professional; either a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon. It works by blocking nerves that control facial muscles such that after treatment, they don’t contract. The procedure gives users a refreshing and young look. There are also side effects which include headaches and severe reaction with pills. The procedure should be repeated after 3 months. You want to be like my grandpa, take the direction of Botox.
