BREAKDOWN THE BARRIER

Under this incident, we see a girl namely Angelica Angulo who is offered a waitress job by a corporation known as a GEM. Immediately after completing and graduating in her secondary school education, Angelica Angulo sets her journey from Las Vegas to town in search of a job as she has no high hopes of joining a university or even a college. After working for short period of time, as a waitress in Las Vegas, the immediate supervisor of Angela later approaches her and immediately connects her to Laurie Raider, one of the trainers of their unions.
Laurier Raider asks Angelica Angulo about her decisions on joining their union but Angelica is in a dilemma. This is because, Angela knows that her parents have never been associated with unions neither have they been members before. Angelica, therefore, knew nothing about them, for example, their policies and their rules and regulations. On the other hand, her high school teachers had never talked about unions thus she knew nothing about them.
Angela behaves reluctantly about the union’s proposal and this created barriers between her and her fellow workmates. No sooner had steward of the union talked about the compensations benefits than she joined it.
Angelica has the option of joining or not joining the union because she knew nothing about unions. She had been brought up from a family that had not been associated with unions. In addition to that, her teachers had never talked about it while she was schooling and since it was an open shop type of union, she still do not have the clue of the compensations that she will benefit with after the job. In addition to that, she is still new to the job environment and not familiar with her workmates.
The prons and cons regarding Angela joining the union are, firstly, it is an open shop. This is a union that has been set without any security insurance. This will maybe risk her earnings as it is not an open deal to her. Secondly, the union does not ask for any financial contributions from the employees and this seems suspicious regarding how it will be run with no membership cash.
If Angelica chooses not to join the union, other members or workmates will disown her or create barriers while on the same workforce with her. Her workers will not co-operate with her as it is one of their rules to join the open shop while at work. Other will maybe continue being persuasive until she joins the union.
