Burglary

A.

Paul is guilty of getting into a home in #3 Penny Lane under the 3^rd degree burglary. He had entered through the garage into the house with a prior intention of stealing money which he never found at the premises; causing him to take his leave. The 3^rd degree burglary is where a criminal breaks into a place with an intention of committing a criminal offence (Source book 1).

B.

At #5 Penny Lane, Paul is guilty of committing a crime where he pushed a slightly cracked window and took money that was nearby. The act of pushing the window shows a break in, taking of the money is also theft (Source book 1).

C.

At #7 Penny Lane, Paul is guilty of 4^th degree burglary because he came in through the open door and decided to check if there was money inside he could steal. Even though he never saw any money, he committed a crime of accessing the premises without consent of the owners. Had he found any cash, Paul would have made away with it; therefore the criminal intention was there (Source book 1).

D.

By entering the home of Yoko on #3 Penny Lane and assaulting her, means that driven by his hate against her, he was bound to commit a crime whether through theft or otherwise; hence being categorized as the 1^st degree burglary. The bodily harm is also categorized as assault (Source book 1).

E. Bonus question

When Paul goes in the house on #3 Penny Lane and decides to make away with the albums and subsequently harming the owner, a number of crimes are abound; one being the break in, the second being the theft and thirdly, the murder of John the owner of the albums (Source book 1).
