Casablana Film.

  Classical Hollywood Narrative, is a forum in which a classical film can be produced. This forum has rules and regulations which are psychologically accepted by the viewer’s discretion board and standards. The forum’s responsibility is to adhere or deviate a film from viewers. Casablana, an American romantic drama film. Produced in 1942 by Curtiz Michael. The film is based on the events that happen in Casablana and focuses on two characters Rick and Lisa who are former lovers.   

The main protagonist Rick is introduced as ‘the hero’ after the introduction of Lisa. Lisa is introduced as a refugee, coming to Casablana. The goals and desires of Rick are expressed when he betrays Lisa, and orders her and the husband, to go away since they were under scrutiny. Lisa’s desires were not achieved since she was betrayed the same way she did to him. Rick desires are seen when he is seen walking away with his newly formed friend Capitaine Renault. 

The film uses a type of unrestricted narration, this is seen when the viewers need to join up the love triangle. The big question of the film is will the hero be awarded? The answer is seen when Lisa is awarded her husband and Rick is awarded Captain Renault’s friendship.  The film has a chronological order in which the order of events are depicted in a manner, cause and effect procedure. The story begins by displaying what is happening to the rest of the world, then it focuses the audience to the characters, Rick and Lisa. 

In conclusion, the film does not provide a sense of disclosure since protagonist Rick does not re unite with his former lover Lisa. This is seen when Lisa and her husband depart and Rick is having a beautiful friendship with Capitaine Renault.
