Casablanca 1942

Sex, love, and romance are the most anticipated in many romance movies. And as the film lives to the demands of the society, sex and romance scenes in movies are becoming more obscene each day. In a society that love is equated to sex and romance isn’t complete without sex; films make the daybreak on sex activities. The popular romance films are more of sex than of the values or affection shared. Moreover, movies nowadays do not just stop at the junky kisses but exposes the nudes of the scenes. With the rise of campaigns on civilization, concealing the dark scenes isn’t necessary at all.

 The world is exposed to so many killings that the inclusion of blood and deaths became normal. For a typical film in the modern-day, there will be a fight for one girl. The films have made it right to have people fight for love. Taking anyone by the throat or even killing and blood is too much in the contents of these films.

Casablanca 1942 is a romance film set in World War II when the Nazis plagued Europe. The movie shows the sacrifice for true love. The video has two blood scenes in the beginning and the end though the scenes are not very promiscuous. The intimacy for the film is from the kisses that don’t have overt sexual scenes. The movie has the spectacular use of I love you and some love languages. Besides, it also contains the content of gambling and smoking. However, the exceptional content suppresses that.

Preferred reading

The preferred reading through the film is that a people can fall in love without knowing any basic information about them. The love line between Rick and Ilsa portrays the love where Rick knows very little about Ilsa, and so does Ilsa. At one point Rick states that he knows very little about Ilsa and that’s how Ilsa would like it to be. The guesses brought suspense in the film; however, it may be misleading to the audience. The reading is dominant all through the film. In many circumstances, the relationship between rick and Ilsa was on guesses. The flashback in Paris, Rick and Ilsa fall in love and hardly knows each other. The oppositional reading states that there was no common ground for Rick and Ilsa to fall in love.

Myths and stereotypes

The myth supports the lack of communication in a relationship. It portrays a lack of communication to create suspense in a relationship. It stereotypes that for the right connection of two, both should understand themselves even without saying. In the modern context, it is misleading. Many divorce cases build on the miscommunication. Spouses find some information on others at a time that the damage is irreversible. It creates a room of doubt and questioning of the suitability of relationships. It puts a gauge on the relationships. It will be stressful to wait for someone to discover what they want. It brings an illusion of the type of relationships considered perfect.

Positive portrayal

The movie portrays the essence of having shared values in a relationship. Ilsa married victor because they had similar values. At the point of decision between Rick and Victor to fly to America, Ilsa realizes there’s more to marriage than love. They had the same political ideologies, supported the same revolution movement, and she had much respect for Victor. At the point of leaving, Rick also realizes love only cannot hold them together. He realizes there’s more to being together than just romance. Ilsa’s whole life is connected to Victor. Rick realizes that and decides it will be best if the two stay together. Though he is aware of the pain that he will have, he admits it will be worth it than Ilsa being unhappy without Victor. Isla’s love life with victor depends on nothing other than their values that they share and that are what binds them together.  

Point of views

It would be necessary for Ilsa to tell Rick about her life. Rick needs to understand her actions, and maybe she also needed to explain to her that she is not sure how to differentiate love, gratitude, and respect. Casablanca portrayed a beautiful life. The fictional life than one can read ones thought through their eyes.  Many people get attracted to movie lives and would want to experiment on each that appeals to them. Though the film is entertaining, it can be misleading. Communication is an integral part of any institution that needs to bond together. The world may see it on a different perspective employing it in real life. 

The allure

The film is appealing, and the reviews are worth it. The film was to be romantic. However, it contains a spice of some genres. The film adds the aspect of politics, rick being the idealist and victor the patriot.  The intrigues in the love triangle, the thrill in constant dangers and romance from the love triangle storyline creates the suspense and makes the audience yearn for more. The film is a mixture of perfect acting, a good director and a better script. There’s no doubt why the film is the best of all times. It is over 75 years, and the film still ranks second of all times.
