Causes of Boredom in Classrooms

Edmudson has explained the ineffectiveness of Liberal Education brought by
university culture and not due to existing strange theories because when used well they are
illuminating. A consumer word view is taken to school by students and it exerts powerful and
un-acknowledged influence in campuses. Students who are intellects have allowed their
personal views outdo the facts leading to eccentric, singular and loner individuals. Many
students strive to be good and as knowledgeable as the genius, but they end up neglecting
their intelligence through competition. The cool consumer perspective forbids strong
admiration and passion as Holice in spikes states, ‘‘to stand in awe of nothing, Numicus is the
only thing that can make a man happy and keep him so’’
Students should be allowed to follow their interest without force displaying their
strong motions. Many college students display boredom waiting for off the wall jokes and
questions to re-energize them. The students acts like they are fine and have enjoyed the
lecture which is not the real fact as Thomas Jefferson states ‘‘everyone requires a two hour
exercise’’. Many professors and teachers may train students who are not willing and out of
mind leading to dis-interest, failure in courses and other cultural effects. They carry different
images of their lectures as beings full of knowledge, bland tolerance and without humour.
The kind of dis-interest leads to non-performance, failure and the association between the
professor and the student is vertical with less personal association.
Edmudson explains his pain on the students’ attitude where they see him as an
amusing and interesting lecture which is portrayed by enjoying lectures. He explains the
students’ attitude on their role models who just happen to be a movie star or a celebrity in a
TV show. They achieve this by outward looks and achieves without any regard to the work
and efforts required. Cultural programs on studies do not work as many children go to school

not by wish or like but by force from guardians. Many professors too have taken teaching as a
retailer where they vow on not pissing the customer off.
Edmudson claim genius is denigrated as it offers alternatives on demoralization of
culture of hip where most students are mired. He explains that genius is not a personal
standard and can spring out from anywhere. He discourages the continuing trend of praising
genius as it creates a gamble culture which can lead to self-humiliation, depression and
suicide can follow. Teachers should be endorsed by genius and self-overcomers to reduce
chances of them having TV’s ads as their role models. Political awareness and
multiculturalism, professor of humanities have failed in pressing against their consumer taste
by nursing disparate views.
I agree with edmudson view on genius as many professors are inclined on programs
debunking to criticism. Many of the professors cannot explain the level of geniality one has
but can explain their work. Output of a task is what determines the level of a person thinking
and acting. Many geniuses have resulted in self-suicide, humiliation and depression as quoted
by Walter ‘‘we need not be the passive victims with what we call deterministically
circumstances but by linking ourselves through immortal free-masonry, we can become
freerer’’.(Jackson Bate) Lives and works of extraordinary people should be embraced leading
to adaption of new ideas thus revising on those that are learnt during a person growth from
childhood, neighbours, friends and parents.
Teaching ethics affect the performance and behaviour of students. Many professors
face challenges when dealing with their students, many receive less students signing for their
lectures leading to high demands and high grade hard to achieve. Computer generated
exchanges and group discussions are enhanced in classrooms giving an environment where
student relate and discuss with each other freely. This is advantageous as it is reducing

monotony and boredom leading to ease understanding and remembrance. The Socratic
method have been jagged with current sensibilities, some students are too anxious and feel
embarrassments in front of their classmates leading to some being irresponsive and curling
up.
I disagree with Edmudson view on teaching ethics. Computerisation has eased the
mode of teaching and students can search as many information from the web and through this
they open up during group projects. Modernisation and exposure has led to new things
erupting day and night which are non-existent in the syllabus. Professors should encourage all
individuals and not concentrate on the geniuses. The new lectures in any campuses should be
briefed on the protocol of the institution before engaging in teaching.
Teaching is a two way thing; student teacher relation and student to student relation.
The students’ well-being and understanding should be the mirror of any class. Slow learners
and geniuses are taught by one lecture thus he/she should strive in ensuring both are catered
for. Enhancing project discussion and breaks between long lectures, this breaks monotony.
The student lecture relation should be enhanced to ensure no student feels out of place,
embarrassed or humiliated. The mentality of the lecture towards teaching should be altered to
enhance understanding and productivity.
