Hi. So, my mass of my crucible, lid and anhydrous salt (42.612g) is less than the mass of just the crucible and lid (44.228g). I’m using the professor’s data rather than my own as I ran out of time to collect sufficient data to do the calculations. How is this possible/how could this happen? I tried to ask my professor but she just said, “This happens in the lab all the time. Try to figure out why and/or how and handle it in your discussion and conclusion.” Quite honestly, I have no idea h ow or why this could have happened.
