CUNY La Guardia Community College Statistics Worksheet

Open the attached spreadsheet. Inside the spreadsheet, you will see two sets (columns) of blood serum total cholesterol measurements, one for a drug being evaluated and one for a control group for which people were given a placebo.

First, use Excel to obtain the average and standard deviation of each group. Jot down those statistics on the attached spreadsheet in the appropriate fields (yellow-highlighted section).

Then apply a 2-sample t-test to evaluate the difference between the two group means (assume these two-samples have an equal variance). Then jot down those statistics on the attached spreadsheet in the appropriate fields (yellow-highlighted section).

Then save your Excel spreadsheet, with your answers, and click Browse My Computer inside this folder to upload your Excel spreadsheet. Then log back in and open the file you submitted to ensure you submitted the correct file even if a Bb confirmation notice has been received.

Again, there is an instructional YouTube video in this folder which will help you to calculate the statistics for this assignment. (I am uploading this through my PC user, not Mac user)
