Democratic Party Vs. Republican Party

Parties have platforms, which form the basis of their unity and campaigns on economic,
social and political ideals. The platform is a reference manual for members to counter the
opposite party and speak from the same script; therefore, platforms are necessary and useful for
propagating party policies. Political parties agree on most issues, but differ on how to implement
the solutions and balance competing needs with limited budgets. Republicans are conservative,
emphasizes on patriotism, traditions, family, personal liberty, individualism, and free market
(Republican Party Texas). Democrats are liberal, modernistic, and believe in social welfare.
Both parties agree that there is a serious shortage of qualified teachers in Texas and there
is need for new teachers’ mentorship. Both parties agree that rigorous examinations are not
productive to young students. Democrats believe in free and quality public education as essential
to promoting rights and liberties, and advocate for increased public spending on education,
especially early childhood learning, and that state should intervene and provide purely secular
education. (Democratic Party Texas). The Republicans believe in freedom of education services
including private education initiatives, unlike Democrats who believe that the state should
provide education. Republicans emphasize on higher education since it is the pillar of
development, and that school heads should operate without interference from state, including
Christian religious practices. The Republicans encourage youths to join teaching career (GOP).
.

Republicans strongly believe that family units, ordained by God, form nations. Marriage
is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, life and rights begin at conception, and
abortion and after-morning pills are wrong (Republican Party Texas). Democrats on their part
believe that any consenting adults can form a family, and abortion is a personal choice and right
(Democrats).
In healthcare, Republicans are religiously pro-life and opposed to abortion and state that
“Abortion is not Healthcare”. They cut spending on Medicare, insisting that families bear their
own healthcare burden (GOP). Democrats advocate for more state budget for Medicare for
children, the aged, and the low-income earners, and expansion of low-cost health insurance,
preventive care, screening, and child insurance (Democratic Party Texas).
In welfare, Republicans believe welfare should only be used to assist families come out
of hardships, be given conditionally, and that community, church and charity organizations
should chip in. Moreover, aliens should not receive welfare (Republican Party Texas). By
contrast, Democrats propagate a welfare state that supports the disadvantaged irrespective of
citizenship, and without conditions (Democrats).
If I campaigned for Democrats, I would rail at GOP’s fixation with traditions and non-
progressive views, instead of embracing a dynamic society. Texan Republicans are
segregationists who divide people into Texans, US citizens, and foreigners, the latter being
undesirables. They discriminate against non-Christian religions, and are insensitive to the
diversity of Texans in terms of race, sexual orientation, same-sex marriages, single parenting,
abortion, and so on. Republicans advocate cuts in government spending in order to shield the
rich from tax payments. They treat state intervention as interference.

If I campaigned for the GOP, I would accuse Democrats of playing mama to American
families through welfare, health and taxing. They milk tax money out of the hard-working
American who toil to create wealth, and dole it out to scroungers, foreigners, and abortionists.
They have lost our fore fathers’ vision for a prosperous nation, and instead loaded the national
government with excessive responsibilities, such as welfare, foreign engagements, subsidies,
bloated healthcare, and ungodly practices like abortion. The Democrats export jobs when they
allow offshore investments instead of foreign trade.
