Demonstrate that gay marriages are against the natural law and should, therefore, be condemned.

Gay marriages refer to marriage between people of the same gender, either male and male or female and female. The practice has become rampant over the recent years, and people no longer find the urge to hide their sexual preference. Some countries such the United States have legalized the practice to ensure that gay people are not discriminated against. This does not, however, mean that the being gay is right. This study will focus on discussing why gay marriage is against the natural law and why it should not be controlled.

From time immemorial and the Bible, marriage has always been known to be between a male and a female. From the Bible, it is stated that man shall leave his mother and father and join his wife. It is with the wife that they are expected to form a family and create a stable environment for the family unit (Wallace 2015). During creation, God created a female companion for Adam and the companion is known as Eve. That indicates that it is God’s will for males to have a female companion and not vice versa. The Bible also condemns gay marriages by saying that it is a sin and also states that those who are involved will not inherit the kingdom of God (Brownson, 2013). It is seen as an unnatural practice that is shameful and indecent. Human beings are expected to pursue good deeds and shun those that are evil. With this knowledge, they should not participate in gay marriages that are clearly condemned in the Bible. They should instead engage in heterosexual relationships.

Married people are also expected to have children naturally, and this is not possible with people in a gay marriage (Cox & Demmit, 2014). Although gay people have children through the use of a surrogate or in vitro fertilization, gayism is still considered a sin. Having children against any other method as described in the Bible goes against the natural law.

Gay marriage also affects a child’s well-being as children should be brought up in a family with the presence of both the mother and father. Each parent plays an important role to the child, and their absence can cause significant damage to the development of the child. Lesbians cannot take up the role of the father as they do not have experience of being a male and the homosexuals cannot match up to the task of a mother. Children of gay parents may end up confused about gender preferences, and this may affect them psychologically (Stanton & Maier, 2004). In a world where many people are in heterosexual relationships, the children may find it hard to distinguish between the right type of relationship to have. They may also be involved in gay relationships because that is what the family setting they have grown up in and they believe that it is right. They will also be confused as they do not understand why they have same-sex parents while others have a mother and father. Although some people view gay marriages as normal, most of the people are yet to come to terms with it, and this may lead to children who have gay parents to be bullied by their peers as well as the society. Bullying affects children psychologically. Because they do not understand that it is wrong, they may even be depressed as they try and figure out what they have done wrong.

In conclusion, it is evident that gay marriages should not be upheld, and people should abstain from them. Gay marriages go against the will of God which is for a man to be with a woman in marriage. It is a religious institution that should not be interfered with. Gay people cannot procreate naturally and instead seek the help of surrogate or in vitro fertilization, which is also not acceptable because it is the duty of the man and a woman to bring forth a child. Children brought up in gay marriages tend to experience sexual confusion as they do not understand why some people have mothers and fathers while they have same sex parents. They also lack the attention of either the mother or father who are important in the development of any child. It is, therefore, advisable for people to engage in activities that are morally right to ensure that the will of God is upheld and prevent the disintegration of the institution of marriage. Children’s wellbeing should also be considered, and every parent should ensure that they provide a comfortable atmosphere that will help the child have proper growth and development.
