Deviant behavior us the behavior that goes against the norms of the society. It is the type of behavior that is unacceptable to the society and can be punished by law in some instances where it hurts other people. Deviant behavior manifests itself in some ways and crime is one of the many. Others include; racism and religion just to name but a few.
The question, in this case, is, “what are the root causes of Violent Crime?” The underlying causes of crime in the United States start from when the people engaging in violent crime were growing up. Most of the people fall into crime out of necessity and when the times change they do it out of habit. (Patrick F Fagan, Ph.D.). According to his research, the children who hail from unstable homes and neighborhoods are more prone to crime compared to those from stable families. Evidence points out that the children who lack parental guidance, especially from their fathers, are more prone to crime. It also documents that children from broken homes tend to be more violent compared to the other kids. When they are fully grown, they then end up being criminals who find it hard to reform, and some die in illegal activities while other are locked up in jail for extended periods of time.
The question, in this case, is, what leads people to engage in computer crimes? There is another type of crime which involves individuals who do not talk and socialize much. They are mainly involved in computer related crimes. The people who engage in this kind of crime are usually people with motive, knowledge, and low moral values. The extents to which they go in expressing their point shows how ruthless they can be. The method of research done her by phone calls and computer crime indexing enabled the researcher to acquire information quickly and without making the respondents uncomfortable. This means that the reliability and correctness of the information given were high.
The research question is, what crime is and how to control criminals. The state being studied is Canada where there was the implementation of policies to deal with the rising rates of crime. The method was effective because it brought crime down. In the same breath, there were reports of racial discrimination where the police officer monitored the black people more than they did the whites. Eventually, the number of blacks being taken to prison increased significantly which gives a false indication that the black people are more criminal than the whites a fact which is wrong. The method used to collect data in Canada showed the victimization of the aboriginals and the black citizens. The statistics gathered most likely from sampling in prisons showed the rising number of the aboriginals and blacks in prisons. Further observation indicated that the two groups of people were discriminated against by the white people, and this showed the reason for their high number of the cells.
In conducting the research, where sample statistics was used, desiring a different result would require the utilization of the various methods like questionnaires. It would be done to establish whether the inmates were guilty or not. The researcher could also ask the white citizens how many times they have gotten away with crimes. The types of research methods employed by the researchers for this course were useful and suitable for the area of study. They gave statistics, comparison of date over time and observations that have been made over time.
All the researchers look at crime differently; there is the part of crime where they have studied the origin of criminal tendencies. Another scientist looks at how crime has been handled in Canada and the other article talks about the computer related crimes. All three articles address crime in the society and they are all relevant and relatable. They give various insights into crime and how to handle the same.
In Canada, the systems of justice for reducing crime are many, and the aboriginal form of crime control is focused on healing the society rather than just punishing the wrongdoers. This system has been effective in other places such as Europe where the cases of repeat offenders are reduced significantly. The issue of crime in Canada can be considered to be in control as per the article (Opentextbc.ca, 2015). The origin of criminal tendencies according to (Patrick F. Fagan, 1995) begin from childhood and the stability of a family as well as the social struggles. Children from destitute homes had more chance of ending up in crime compared to those in stable households in another social circle. The people who engage in computer crimes are people who even in the society have no morals, courtesy and score very poorly in socializing. (Rogers, Seigfried & Tidke, 2015) The computer criminals often have a point they want to prove and at this stage they show that they are hard to catch or even slow down. The number of computer related crimes are on the rise every day and are expected to get worse.
