Communication skills will enable me know my audience in the workplace by collaborating with my fellow workers of a different department in the same institution or interacting with a customer in the right way to improve business relation externally in Education sector (McIntosh and Luecke, 2008). Additionally communication skills enable me be a good listener and enable me articulate reply in my mind before my boss is done talking. Similarly, the communication will also enable me proofread and write well which is a basic work for me as a secretary. My employer will need me write professional letters like memo and reports without errors to ensure that I can proofread the work before sending.

Teamwork is also one of the essential skills my employer will value and give credit (Cross and Lanaghen, 2005). Teamwork involves the ability to operate efficiently and smoothly within a group. My employer consider that in the workplace where many people are working there is a need for the skill because in education institution people do not work individually but as a team to reach the objective. Having teamwork skill I will help my employer achieve that because i can inspire and encourage other teachers perform better. Equally teamwork skill will enable me in work environment have the ability to ignore and compromise my ego.

Planning and organizational skills are the capacities to manage oneself, resources and others as well surrounding situations and time to attain a specific goal (Planning & Organizing Skills the University of Strathclyde, 2015). My employer will need this skill in the institution since it is significant. The skill enables me estimate accurately effort and time required to complete a given task. With this skill I will reduce my employer worries for supervision. Likewise, i help my employer maintain sufficient preparation time for scheduled meetings as well as developing timetables and schedules with clear deadlines.

Self-management is similarly one of the significant skill my employer will value greatly when employing me.
