 I think the greatest environmental health challenge humans will face in the future is air pollution. Air pollution has harmed people’s health and the environment since 1970. Air pollution levels in several areas of the United States surpass national air quality standards in at least one of six common pollutants like particle pollution, ground level ozone pollution, and carbon monoxide pollution to name a few. The Environmental Protection Act (EPA) is working with state, local and tribal governments as well as federal agencies to lower air pollution and the damage it causes under the Clean Air Act. Fuels and vehicles are a large contributors to air pollution and EPA is assisting states to meet standards by issuing federal emissions standards to reduce tailpipe and evaporative emissions from cars, and trucks. These emission standards will bring about a change and reduce levels of fine particles, ozone levels, nitrogen dioxide, and toxic pollution.

The greatest environmental health challenge humans will face in the future I think will be the natural disasters that are happening and will continue to happen because of the climate change which have a huge impact on the communities; like Hurricane Michael, and the forest fires that consumed the Amazon forest. These natural disasters are in direct correlation with the Earths climate change, there is evidence that the Earths average surface temperature has risen about 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit, the ocean is warming more and more, and the sea level is rising because of it.

Environmental Health Professionals will play key roles in educating and distributing facts and information to environmental agencies and populations around the globe. They will also help define what exactly climate change is and how we can slow down the damage we have caused to  our Earth for our future

I got 12 out of 14 questions correct.  Question 14 about quasi experiment research design was the most challenging question for me because my prior knowledge led me to believe that only experiments involved a treatment and control group.  Question #13, which prompted an answer for the reason an experiment was a quantitative study, proved to be helpful in describing the framework for which experiments are conducted in quantitative studies .

Gammon and Morgan-Samuel (2005) investigated the effect of structured student tutorial support on student stress, self-esteem, and coping.  The results of the study identified a reduction in student stress and an improvement in self-esteem and the ability to cope (Gammon & Morgan-Samuel, 2005, p. 161).  This is important to professionals in higher education because it provides insight into student cognitive effects and psychological effects within a specific program.  Nursing programs are strenuous in the workloads; therefore, having an understanding of how the requirements of a specific program effect students within the program can help professionals better prepare and support the students.  Providing additional support through student tutorials were identified as beneficial to students within the nursing program.  It improved the students’ ability to cope with the requirements of the course work and program while also improving self-esteem, and decreasing their stress level.

To be a creative writer means to be able to use the beauty and prose of the written word and create something that captures the imagination like any good piece of art does. The ability to capture the imagination and transform ones readers into a different world than their own seems me the difference between creative writing and other writing such as academic writing. Creative writers express something they want the reader to see or understand about society or the self, but other times creative writers just write to have fun and to make others smile. Academic writing cannot do this fully no matter how well the essay is presented or written. I would define creative reading as being able to read outside of ones comfort zone. Being able to take in and analyze different genres of writing can only help the creative imagination and make one a better creative writer. Writers must be creative readers so that their imaginations and creativity can be stirred. Can you imagine being able to write something well having only read a certain genre or only having read from the perspective of only one ethnic group?

Creative writing is an art of sorts. It is the art of making things up using ones imagination. It’s writing done in a way that is not academic or technical but still attracts an audience.creative writing can for the most part be considered any writing that is original and self-expressive. A news article, for example, cannot be considered creative writing because its main goal is to present facts and not to express the feelings of the writer. While a news article can be entertaining, its main purpose is to present the facts. Some example of creative writing are plays,novels, poetry and even songs. So many things are considered to be creative writing. Creative writers however have to be good reader. Not only does reading broaden there vocabulary. As a writer, you’ll find yourself hitting plateaus and roadblocks when you aren’t reading. You’ll run out of words, if you’re not regularly being challenged through books and other material. Creating writing is probably one of my favorite forms of writing due to the the freedom it gives you.
