Part II: Go to your local Target or Walmart (or shop online) – specify which store you chose and why.
1. Search for condoms that are available at this store.
a. What brands of condoms are sold here? (Examples: Trojan, Durex, LifeStyles, etc.)
b. What is different about the condoms available? (Examples: lubricated, extra-sensitive,
larger size, colored, etc.)
c. What is the price range for condoms? Least expensive (name brand/type/count)? Most
expensive (name brand/type/count)?
d. Would you recommend buying condoms from this store? Why or why not?
2. At the same store, search for and provide price ranges (least to most expensive and count or
quantity of product) for the following baby products:
a. Diapers
b. Baby wipes
c. Baby food (2 different types)
d. Baby clothes (1 girl’s and 1 boy’s article of clothing)
Part III: Call a local childcare or baby-sitting agency in your area. Find out how much it costs to
place a child in their care (for a day/month/year). Does this differ by child’s age? Specify the agency
and its location, and summarize the information you gathered.
