HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

The need to enhance relationships in the workplace and to make employees more efficient while at the same time, ensuring that their comfortable has never been greater. The silo matrix, social media, and the 360-degree appraisal tool are a few concepts that have come into focus when one wants to achieve optimum output (Noe, 2017). Employees and human resource management have come a long way since the draconian era of John Rockefeller and other industrial personalities who did not look out for the welfare of their workers (Gerhart, 2017). These concepts have been able to create a much more conducive working environment, and they have ensured that everyone is satisfied.

The 360-degree appraisal tool is usually used to provide and obtain anonymous and confidential feedback to employees about their performance within their organizations (Mayo, 2017). This mode could be used to improve one’s skills, enhance their leadership abilities, and to also enhance competencies and behavior of one as an employee. By engaging this tool, it would assist one to understand how other employees perceive you, and it also helps to show employee weaknesses, which also helps one to improve (Gulati, 2017). The upside of this mode is that it helps one to adjust to their team, themselves as an employee, their organization.

The silo matrix is also another modus operandi that can be used by different organizations. The silo matrix assists new employees to adjust to their new work environment, which is something that aids growth and development rapidly (Noe, 2017). The fact that one is supervised and helped by much more experienced employees is much more advantageous, and this is mostly in jobs that are much more technical such as construction jobs (Mayo, 2017). This concept is most beneficial to the project managers who can know the weaknesses and strengths of their teams.

The other area is social media, which has become the base of operations when it comes to recruitment, training, and hiring of employees (Gulati, 2017). Social media has been able to create a platform for people who want to advertise certain positions in their organizations. As an individual, I would like to be in an organization that encourages the use of social media, and this is because it assists one to communicate with prospective employees and it can save on time Gerhart, 2017). One can even interview social media through video calls on various social media platforms. This can be highly advantageous to an organization.

The silo matrix has enabled me as an individual to be able to review my perception of the role of human resource management (Hollenbeck, 2017). This is because of the interaction between the manager and the employee. This is very vital to the employee and also to the manager because in spite of committing fewer errors, one is also able to learn from the superiors and this makes a difference (Wright, 2017). It helps an individual to mature much faster and to also become their person by being self-aware of what they are good at in their line of work.

Conclusion

In life, it is always important to learn new things, and this is mostly from other people who can enable one to grow. These different concepts can be adopted in various organizations, and they will allow there to be a culture in these organizations that could be passed down to other generations. It helps a business to have an identity, and this identity creates a particular type of respectability even among one’s peers.
