The human resources representatives, when well-trained are resourceful. They focus on the right things like the remuneration of the employees and the working conditions. The human resources departments should be the go between for the employees and the company. Companies today are investing more in making their customer service better which can only be achieved by the human resources being a strategic partner in the company.

  1. What are some examples of activities where HR is a strategic partner with its organization?

The human resource should be designed to fit into the strategic activities that maximize the productivity of the employees (Oke, 2016). Strategic planning in Human Resources identifies the needs of the company and sets to get the best professionals to fill the positions and stir the companies towards their goals through the human resources department (Brewster, 2017).  The human resources department in corporations like FedEx has been a strategic partner in its operations. This is evident in the magnitude of growth registered by the company every year. Such kind of growth is a sign that the employees and the management are working together to make the experiences of the clients friendly and helpful (Reynolds, 2018). FedEx has invested in treating their employees right so that the same will trickle down to the clients that they need to keep.

  1. Do examples come to mind where they have not been in line strategically? 

The 24/7 Wall St. has been considered a poor employer for a long time (Comen, Stebbins, & Frohlich, 2016). This is because the employees in the company have not been taken care of by the employer. This shows disconnect between the Human Resources and strategic planning teams in the company do are not aligned. It is dangerous for a company to operate in such an environment because disgruntled employees will not serve clients well.
