With the use of text mining, this could be used to improve the care of patients with chronic disease by
finding and identifying information that was known perviously. The mining is able to extract information
from documents that are produced from the notes of doctors and nurses when they are imputed about
the diseases. This will draw key words and information that is used within these documents and bring to
light the correlations within them. This can be used as a way to find repeating information that is
otherwise missed bringing now light to the disease. In return this will improve research and quality by
providing new tools to improve care and innovation.

identifying relevant studies unbiasedly. Text mining can help prioritize a list of
hypertensive patients by using it to provide more relevant data that may help us
understand the root cause of their illness. Text mining can retrieve unbiased and more
complex information beyond the physical but also give us the information we can use to
treat them like transportation, whether they need a home blood pressure Cuff or know if

The hospital that I choose in my area was Hancock Regional Hospital. It is the only
hospital in Hancock County. Hancock Regional Hospital has gotten a 4 out of 5 star
overall rating accordin to Medicare.gov. According to the patient survey ratings they
have a 4 out 5 patient survey rating and that is based on a number of 593 completed
surveys. In the patienty survey all of the areas that they focused on were above the
National Average except for one of them. The one area they were not above average for
the nation was, patients who reported that their doctors “Always” communicated well.
They scored a 78% and the national average was 80%. Below are some scores according
to Medicare.gov from the survey that was completed:
Patients who reported that their nurses “Always” communicated well. 83%
National/Indiana average 80%.
Patients who reported that they “Always” received help as soon as they wanted. 69%
National-67%, Indiana 66%.
Patients who reported that the staff “Always” explained about medicines before giving it
to them. 67% National 63%, Indiana 61%.
Patients who reported that their room and bathroom were “Always” clean. 74%
National/Indiana 73%.
Patients who gave their hospital a rating of 9 or 10 on a scale from 0 (lowest) to 10

The performance measures that are most important to consumers at a hospital near me
would be the level of communication amongst the nurses and providers or doctors, the
availability of help as soon as they wanted it, clean rooms along with clean restrooms,
quietness around their room area at night, staff explaining the medicines to the patients
before giving it to them, and the information provided to patients when they get home for
