Is Darwin’s Theory of Human Evolution True or Not True

According to Darwin’s theory of human evolution, man descended from a common ancestor and over several years, they developed to better creatures. Primitive creatures according to Charles Darwin were present on earth, and their practices were ancient. They were hunters and gathers and used to crawl instead of walking. With time, these creatures gradually evolved into more knowledgeable and intelligent creatures that learned how to cook their food. They also started walking upright, and the current human beings are said to be the final point of evolution. Darwin further argued that humans originated from apes because of the similar characteristics they exhibited. Darwin also indicated that natural selection would have led to evolution. In his argument, he stated that nature selected the desirable traits and characteristics that were passed on to future generations. Darwin also believed that nature determined the species members that would die or survive. According to him, food, water, and space were scarce for all the creatures and the ones with the best survival tactics would live.

Although Darwin insisted that man evolved from apes, there has not been a clear evidence of his claims. Similar characteristics between creatures cannot be used to explain the evolution of man. There is no proven record that with time, monkeys will evolve to become man and perform the various activities that man is engaged in (Johnson & Behe 69). Fossil remains of different creatures would act as proof that man did evolve, but no fossil has been discovered to strengthen Darwin’s argument.

Darwin’s theory of human evolution also failed to explain the existed of apes before they purportedly developed into humans. This has led to criticism of the theory by Christians who believe that the world and every creature in it were created by God. The book of Genesis in the Bible shows that God created human beings in his likeness from dust. He also created every other creature, and this included the apes. The world has been in existence for billions of years and Darwin’s failure to explain its origin led to many doubting his evolution theory (Lotz 134). Christians chose to believe in what the Bible says instead of the theory because it is real and Darwin could not prove his theory.

Charles Darwin uses apes to support his argument of the evolution of man because of similar characteristics between the two. He, however, fails to acknowledge that the similarity may have been as a result of man and apes being designed in the same manner to allow them to perform tasks in an easy way. Arguments have also been developed against the theory stating that for changes to happen for apes to turn into human beings there must have been a form of genetical engineering in nature that fostered the change. Darwin did not prove its existence, and this makes his theory debatable.

In his evolution of human, Darwin stated that fossils indicated that evolution happened as the fossils that were found were different from the creatures that existed at the time. This argument showed that with time, creatures changed their appearance and developed into new beings that had a common ancestry with the fossils. This is, however, debatable because scientists state that gene mutations may have cause changes in different creatures without changing their whole appearance. Because gene mutation does not happen to every creature, it is impossible to define it as an evolution cause. In his argument, Darwin did not discuss the factor played by genes in changing the appearance of a creature and cannot, therefore, be used to support his theory. This further strengthens the argument that although creatures may have the same features and characteristics, it does not mean that they have evolved from each other.

According to Darwin’s theory, humans are 99.9 percent identical because they evolved at the same time and went through same changes to the modern creatures that they are today. This was, however, discovered to be false as science revealed that humans can have a difference of 10 to 12 percent. The discovery makes Darwin’s theory be considered as untrue. Genes also explain the difference in human beings and their difference between individuals can lead to some of them being tall or short among other differences seen in humans (Fodor & Piatelli-Palmarini 40).

Darwin in his theory of evolution believed that for humans to exist, accidental molecules must have stuck together. According to him, this also explained why some creatures were different from others. The argument has been disregarded by scientists after they found out that DNA is the main reason behind a human’s identity. DNA is not altered by external forces but is changed when an egg and sperm join to form a new DNA. Changes experienced in gender in humans depend on the parent’s chromosomes and not because of environmental causes as Darwin believed. The human female has the XX sex chromosomes while males have the XY chromosomes.

Chromosome count also made the theory of evolution be considered untrue. According to science, every species has a fixed number of chromosomes that cannot be changed. Because of this, creatures cannot mate successfully with different species and reproduce. For this reason, humans could not have evolved from apes because mating cannot happen between the two creatures. In case of an increase or loss of chromosomes due to deformity, the creatures cannot successfully mate.

According to Darwin’s theory, some organs in the human body evolved with time, and this rendered some of them useless. These organs are considered as vestigial organs that were once useful in the body but after some time, they were no longer useful (Wells 31). One of the organs, as noted by Darwin, is the appendix. He, however, failed to note that the appendix is an important organ in the body as it is a source of antibody-producing blood cells that are important to the human’s immune system.

Based on the discussions stated above, it is evident that Darwin’s theory of human evolution is untrue as there have been arguments against it that refute the theory. The theory of creation is the only believable theory that can explain how creatures came into being. From the Bible, the book of Genesis has a clear account of how things were created from the day one until the seventh day when God created man known as Adam. During creation, he also created a woman known as Eve who was a companion for man and it from the two human beings that humans now exist. According to the Bible, we are all descendants of Adam and Eve. The world has been in existence for a long time and in his theory, Darwin failed to give a definite evidence of where the apes originated from. This made it clear that they must have existed for a long time because they were created by God. Darwin tried to argue against the creation theory, but none of his arguments were factual.
