Jesus Christ

Introduction

From history, Jesus Christ is the only one who has managed to influence the greatest number of people’s lives all over the world. Those who believed and have believed in the teachings of Jesus Christ have had some great inspirations that have changed their lives positively. And thus they have had a different perspective about life while opting to remain faithful, endure hardships, persecutions and also death. Moreover, those who have believed in Jesus Christ have also chosen to devote themselves to serve others while reducing their individual needs and the desires of others (Who is Jesus Really, 2010). This paper attempts to find out how Jesus Christ has shaped, enhanced and enriched the thinking of today’s world.

Background Study on Jesus Christ

Scott (2015) documents that Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem around 7 B.C. and His second name Christ is a Greek word which in Hebrew language is translated as Messiah which refers to as the one who is anointed. It is informed that according to the Jews, Jesus was the one prophesied to come and redeem all humanity. Christians are the followers of Jesus Christ whose religion is the largest in the world. What Jesus taught when He was on earth was peace and remaining tolerant and in addition He performed miracles.

Teachings of Jesus Christ that have Influenced how the World thinks today

One of the major teachings of Jesus Christ is faith whose principles guide most of Christianity acts and they are: (a) trusting God and to follow His will. And that He will provide for needs regardless of how enormous they are (b) obeying God’s commandments and living righteously (c) remaining sensitive to the Holy Spirit and embracing its fruits (d) having patience and an appreciation that God allows people to suffer so as to grow spiritually (e) God answers prayers at the right time which could be longer or shorter. Thus, according to Jesus’ teachings, Christians should have faith which means, remaining hopeful to things yet unseen. Another important factor that also guides Christianity is living righteously which entails obeying God’s commands and following Jesus’ teachings. This righteous life is believed to make one happy and also be saved in the afterlife. A righteous life is also one that is free of sins that are believed to lead one to death. This righteousness is believed to have been initiated by the death of Jesus Christ and thus, to be a Christian, one has to repent and be forgiven more in particular from the sin of Adam and Eve that is perceived everyone is born into; and after start believing in Jesus Christ and following His teachings. Hence, according to Christianity, earthly things are not enough to provide the kind of happiness and life satisfaction that a person needs. But growing spiritually fills this emptiness while having a direction to follow in life. Thus, basically, Christians believe that their lifetimes here on earth are probationary periods in which their acts in reference to their faith in the Word of God, applications of the teachings of Christ, and obedience to God’s commands will earn them an everlasting life in life after death that Jesus Christ promised. Christianity also understands that Satan is the originator of all sins of earth and that he deceives people and makes them fail to believe in the Word of God and those that follow him will perish if they do not turn to Jesus Christ for salvation. Thus, the habit of resisting temptations is strongly appreciated as an increasing spiritual growth that pleases God (Who is Jesus Really, 2010; Scott, 2015).

Conclusion

 This in summary can be said that through the acts and teachings of Jesus Christ, which is, the Word of God is has shaped, enhanced and enriched how people think today. In fact, much of these teaching are borrowed to formulate ethical cords, rules of laws, social structures and many more that govern human lives today.
