The English Bill of Right 1689 documentation mainly focused on the provision of an act that declared the rights and liberties of the subjects and the sovereignty of the subjects and protecting crown elevation (The document provided a detailed description of information that entails laws, which creates power distinction, protects the limitation of the powers of the king and queen, ensures a democracy in elections, and defends the freedom of speech. Noteworthy, the English Bill of Right established a constitutional monarchy. Some of the main ideas presented in the English Bill of Right 1689 included freedom to elect members of parliament, freedom in petitioning a king, freedom from excessive bail, restriction of the royal interference with the law, and freedom to express oneself in parliament. 

On the other hand, The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates authored by John Milton protects the rights of people from a guilt sovereign, whether tyrannical or not. Among the arguments that got presented in The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates is that the people’s actions are the determinants of justice. Nevertheless, the document also justifies the individual’s freedom, and it is only through democracy that humans can develop. Milton (53) points out that, all humans are equally created in the image of God, and they all have the same rights. 

Milton’s Work and the Bill of Rights

It is important to note that Milton’s work provides a foundation for the Bill of Rights. Whereas the Bill of Right 1689 entails acts that detail the people’s freedom and a succession of the crown, Milton through his book The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates present arguments that defend individual’s liberty and justice. Milton (52) points out that.

            Effects of the bill of rights to traditional value systems

The Bill of Rights amendments adjoined to the Constitution guarantees of people’s freedoms and rights, which will clear limitations on the government’s power in government proceedings and judicial matters.  Additionally, it erases all declarations that all powers not only entrusted to the Congress by the Constitution but are retained for the ordinary people and the states .Moreover; the constitution amended the line of succession to the throne as laid out in the English Bill of Rights which brought about the formation of the constitutional monarchy. The members differed by arguing that their rights were getting invaded. However, the commoners agreed to tell the committee to distinguish between the search of the general heads as the initials of the new laws from those that are demonstrative of the ancient rights.  The law has had a significant impact on in the sense that the U.K is a unitary state in the international law and uses three minor and significant legal systems unlike those of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. The method of law used in England and Wales has closely influenced that in Ireland and partially affected the legal system in Scotland. The legal systems in U.K have experienced an amalgamation of the European Union law which has had significant effects on domestic law.
