People have different eating habits and this varies in accordance to different cultural backgrounds. Some people takes a close monitor of their day to day diets by evaluating sugars, fats, sodium and calories that are found in their foods. While others, takes foods consistently that contains specific nutrients and additives. In this report, I am going to analyze on the meals that I take on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
According to my eating habits, the foods that I consistently take are; white rice, different types of vegetables, that is, coconut curry vegetables, vegetarian lettuce wraps and vegetable spring rolls. Taking a wide variety of such vegetables therefore, serves as a great source of folic acid and fiber to my body. Nutrients found in these vegetables also helps me reduce chances of heart diseases such as stroke and heart attack, protects me from cancer, lowers my blood pressure and also serves as a great source of vitamin A and C to my body (Teresa, Evelyne & Dano). I also take a variety of soups in the three days which includes; hot & sour soup, Korean Tofu and Wonton soup
My diet contains high levels of sodium minerals on Sundays and Mondays. These minerals therefore, help to maintain the stability of my blood pressure and also enables in proper functioning of my nerves and muscles. High sodium levels also help in maintaining and balancing of water in and out of my cells (Tal & Amit, 11). Among the foods that I takes for the three days, The Dan Dan noodles has the highest amounts of sodium that is, 3720mg, followed by vegetarian lettuce wraps with 2300mg of sodium then the hot and sour soup he takes that has 1554mg sodium.
I take highest amounts of proteins on Mondays that is contributed by the coconut curry vegetables containing 43g proteins and the vegetarian lettuce wraps and Edamame that contains 63grammes of protein. These, therefore, aids my body in making of enzymes and hormones, repairing my worn out tissues and also helps in the growth of my hair and nails (Navam, 12). I take the lowest amounts of proteins on Tuesdays.
Apart from proteins and other minerals, the amount of calories that I take, vary depending on the foods that I take. On Mondays I take the highest amount of calories in my diets that is contributed by the Coconut curry vegetables that contains 1050 calories. In addition to that, levels of my calories are high on Sundays due to intake of Dan Dan noodles that has 800 calories.
Moreover, I also take water and juice fluids for example, orange and apple juices. Wonton, Korean Tofu and hot &sour soup are also fluid supplements in my food. According to my diet, I rarely take fruits apart from kiwi fruits only that I take on Sundays. I also does not take enough water because I takes maximally of two bottles of water in a day (Victor, 12). Apart from the white rice that I take, I do not eat other carbohydrates foods such as breads so as to supply my diet with enough carbohydrate. Orange and apple juices lead to rise of sugar contents in my diet. Apart from sugars there also other foods that contain high amounts of fats namely, coconut curry vegetables and vegetarian lettuce wraps.
