LinkedIn Company is a business oriented social networking web site found in 2002 and headquartered in Mountain View in California. It was then that the company was launched in 2003. At this point, the company was growing at a slower rate with about twenty sign up in some days although it attracted some investment from Sequoia capital. In 2005, the company-LinkedIn introduces services that allows other companies to post jobs as well as advertising their products and businesses. This made the company to make a huge profit. In 2007 after the company was successful, the CEO Rein stepped aside to run the product and allowed the Dan Nye to be the new boss of the company who also opened up other office in Omaha after moving to court.

In 2008, LinkedIn Company became an international figure by opening up its first international office in London and launch Spanish and French languages in the site (Ellison & Nicole, page 210-230). Furthermore, the company changed its leadership in 2009 with Jeff Weiner becoming the CEO after joining LinkedIn as a president. LinkedIn therefore realized its missions, values and strategic priorities. In 2010 the company accelerated its profits by the end of the year. This was achieve with 10 offices around the world, 90 million members and almost 1,000 employees. The company was able to celebrate its eighth anniversary and became a publicly traded company in New York stock exchange in 2011.

In 2012, the company was focused on three concept that is; simply, grow, and every day. This concept pushed for a project inversion and complete re-architected site that enabled product innovation and transformation. By 2013, the company manage to record 225 million members. It was then that they came up with the strategy to create a map of digital economy, its participants, and every facet of the opportunity linking these nodes together which was realized in 2014. This enabled LinkedIn Company to be bought by Microsoft in 2016 for a proximately $ 26 billion. The following year 2017 it recorded 500 million members in 200 countries.

LinkedIn Company being a business and employment oriented social networking company, it does wonders to business both small and large. By adding LinkedIn to a marketing strategy, it can help to expand business network, find clients, and create professional images for a business. This is possible since there are millions members on the company. It can also give connections that can lead to publicity, more work and other great business advantages the can grow a business. The company also has various features on its site that enable other companies to advertise various products they produce.
