Parents’ Involvement in their Children’s Learning

Vocabulary	The best strategy in this case is to train them how to write short sentences, using three or four letter words to express themselves. This will ensure that the teacher can learn about the cultures of the students before they can introduce new things in class and, therefore, respect their cultures when teaching new vocabulary. The teacher will engage the children in the activity of using the new word in many different ways repeatedly until they can use it correctly from memory (Torres-Velasquez, n.d.).
Building a Community  of Learners	In the building of a community, the children will need to work in small groups. Here, the teacher will encourage the children to exercise their new knowledge and correct them with love when they get it wrong. This will ensure that these children grow up knowing that getting wrong answers is not a crime but a way of learning.
High Expectations	The teacher should set high expectations in the children while teaching language. This will push the children place high targets for themselves.
Rewards	Every time they set targets for themselves and achieve them, a reward goes a long way. This could be in terms of the child getting ten correct spellings out of fifteen. The teacher may, for example, reward the child with crayons as a way of motivating them. At the end of the day, this child will be eager to learn more words and this makes their language knowledge improve.
Pride	Engaging children in healthy discussions will ensure that each time they learn something new, they will have a sense of pride and confidence. This boosts their ability to want to learn more. All this comes down to the teachers and parent’s collaboration in helping the children to learn.
Method of sharing this  information with families	Their families can learn about this progress by being presented with progress reports regularly and parents’ involvement in their children’s learning activities.

Discussion 2

Welcoming all families into the school community is essential for student success because it encourages parents to be involved in school activities. This involves the parents being received respectably in the school community by the teachers and the support staff. This will usually encourage them to be involved in their children’s school progress.

Communicating effectively is essential for student success because information shared is power created. This is in the sense that when here is a new program for the children at school, the parents will be informed about it and encourage their children to embrace it. Such small details determine how the children will approach school depending on their parents’ involvement in their education (PTA Family School Partnerships).

The school can incorporate these standards by planning termly meetings for parents. At these meetings, teachers should initiate the interaction to ensure that the parents feel appreciated as part of the school community. During these meetings, parents will interact with each other and share their challenges. At this point, the standard of accepting all families into the school is at play. The diversity presents different positions of parenting to teachers, who will then know how to handle these children. Finally, communicating effectively is the key to the success of all organizations, schools included. Communicating effectively will ensure that the parents and the administration are working together for the benefit of the children. When teachers are planning educational trips, they will inform parents and show them the importance of the trip. This way, the school administration can give quality education with the support of parents. Children in their early years can benefit greatly because they develop a good or bad attitude towards school at this point.
