Personality Essay

Personality in a person refers to the way people relate to each other. It is developed mainly by the people one grows up around. They help shape the personality of an individual in a way that they learn how to relate and accommodate others in the society. Personality is basically the approach people have towards each other. The development of personality is dependent on the background, the people who are around the individual and ultimately, the ability of the individual to build a relationship with other people.  For instance, being an introvert is difficult when in a society that is not accommodating of differences. Introverts get tired of socializing and prefer to do it when it is necessary. They have an aspect of being self-dependent and self-sufficient. An aspect, in this case, is a distinct characteristic or tendency. Introverts prefer being in an environment where interaction with other people is limited. The aspects that define an introverted personality include the preference to work alone and the tendency to stay by themselves. 

Being an introvert gives me an opportunity to observe the behavior of people and make clear judgments and decisions. I take my time thinking about how I will execute my plans and sometimes end up working late into the night to perfect my work. I am emotionally stable and intelligent. I am sensitive to people’s emotions and needs. This makes it difficult for me to take care of myself because I am caught up taking care of other people’s needs first. Being an introvert is a challenge when I have personal problems because it is difficult to reach out (Yammiyavar). However, being an introvert gives me comfort in the event that I am not able to make friends quickly and mingle with other people freely. Introverts have been known to be highly intuitive and creative. This is because they take their time to develop relationships that are beneficial. 

Introverts think better when in their own companies. The results from the Jung test indicate that I have a moderate personality in terms of being a thinker, introvert and in possession of intuitive and perception skills. These qualities are supposed to help an individual create a relationship and social presence in the society. Introverts are minimally judgmental and have a strong intuition. Their survival is based on the fact that they can easily blend in any society (Widhyastika, Sutarsyah and Suparman). Introverts can be social misfits in cases where they are not well understood. Sometimes, I am open to adventures. I can take part in activities with other people as long as I can get the time out to relax and rest. I find it challenging to be around a beehive of activities where people are involved for long periods. I prefer working alone or in a small group of people. I find it easy to deal with people on a one on one basis rather than meeting people in crowds. Being an introvert is a personality type that makes people find comfort in being alone. There are many ways of ensuring that an introvert is comfortable. This includes an introvert being given the space to work, study, or even sit in his or her own space uninterrupted. Introverts are often exhausted being in the company of many people and would rather stay home than go to a party with friends.
